Long Death is Killing Me!

Post by Salome34 »

I am a lvl 24 druid and lvl 1 barbarian. I can't seem to hardly make a dent in these guys in the Long Death room. They just keep blowing me to smithereens. Any suggestions O Great Ones?

I had problems at this point too. I played a wizard and tried it about a dozen times till i managed. I just had to change a few spells. :D So keep trying some new spell combinations.

concentrate on the spellcasters and get them out of the way fast, use heal potions when you need to, use potion of speed if you have one, and focus on the rest. also keep moving. don't stand still for long. i found as a arcane archer the best approach was to run around and fire off an arrow or use a scroll then run and do the same. you will still take hits but not as many as if you try keeping still while you cast loads of spells etc. i've never tried as a druid, but as a monk the hit and run tactic worked brilliantly, same as a rogue/assassin. as a sorceror i found i could take them out with hardly any damage cos by that point they are ridiculously powerful and have a lot of spells at their disposal that they can just keep firing off. if you have any spells to strip the protections of their wizards that will help a lot too (i've never played druid so don't know what spells they actually have). and use summons too just to distract them a bit.

also, do you have any henchman with you? deekin is great against them as he dodges most of their hits and the bard song will boost your stats a bit. also if you do have henchman, keep an eye on them cos if they die just use a rod of resurrection to get them back in the battle again straight away.

Erm...what forms do you have access to shift into? I've only played through once, however, I believe the Long Death order focuses on cold? The monks at least...check to see what kind of damage you are taking in the feedback menu. Perhaps shifting into a different kind of form may help you out. I played through with a monk/druid/shifter. I trashed the place with all the different creatures I could turn into.

I waded through as an unarmed monk until things got hard then transformed into something with damage reduction of some sort to get through it. Worked like a charm. The undead types work wonders against criticals/sneak attacks.

"Oh, so I can crate you and hide you in the warehouse at the end of Raiders?"
"So funny, kiss me funny boy!" / *Sprays mace* " I know, I know, bad for the ozone"
