The fable 2 that ur talking about is this for the X-Box and not X-Box 360 if so here is what i would like:
i would like for there to be a birth day so that u dont age as fast as u do in the 1st game what was up with that anyways u would play for an hour and already be like 60 somthing

and another thing that could be better is that there should be good spells and evil spells
spells that u can only get if ur guy is evil and spells that u can only get if ur guy is good

thats all 4 now

Reading this thread, it seems to me that many people want to become just another RPG. Part of Fables charm (for me at least) was that it was just an action game that incorporated elements of RPG games for added depth (and I say this as a fan of RPGs). The fairly basic skill system worked fine, without going into D&D level detail.

Though I do like the repeated smithing aspect (either by doing it yourself, with the required skill or asking a blacksmith or custom make you one. With more skilled blacksmiths around later in the game).

Also I agree that the game should be longer. Far longer. With more side quests.

Enemies should become harder as you get better. It gets rather annoying when it is possible to dispatch enemies (which when first encountered represent a significant challenge) in one or two blows.

I quite liked the different areas, as opposed to the huge map you see in most game. Though it would be nice if they were slightly larger so more enemies could fit in them, as well as a larger world with more levels.

I liked the fluid alignment in the game. But I think you can go from extreme to extreme too easily. I think the character should get permently marked if he was very evil (say) but "mends their ways." For example if you are so evil you get horns it should be impossible to completly loose them.
(I tried to think about the equivelent for good but all I could think of was tarnished halos and defeathered angel wings :( ).

I think it would also be good if Fable followed Final Fantasy's lead and have Fable 2 on a completely different world.

I think the magic system should also be revised, some (well, nearly all the spells) were just too powerful. Magic shield effectively rendered armour useless, and many offensive spells could clear out areas without having to top yourself up with mana potions.

Actually in general, the whole game should be harder. I think I only used one resurrection phial and that was at the beginning of the game when I was still getting to grips with the controls.

A more open storyline.
Even though you can choose between good and evil, the story ties itself together without your choice influencing much of anything.

  • Other additions I'd like to see:
    • Masks
    • Shields
    • Gender selection
    • Race selection
    • Cutomized scars
    • Longer gameplay
    • Dual weapons
    • Class enhancing clothing
    (Would make skill/will/strength more powerful)
    • Online-play
    • Object modding
    • Custom haircolor
    • Accessories
    (Earrings, glasses, eyepatch...)
Sculpt. Shape. Shatter.

i think you've all missed one of the things present in most RPGs

Classes! instead of just the word assassin or spellcaster or whatever appearing in one of the menus they should make a difference to your gameplay, or at the start you should take a test to see which class would best suit you. and attributes would be cool too, things like speed that are affected by how much you use them, not just how many enemies you kill using that area of combat. running makes you faster, taking hits gives you better endurance, rolling or dodging hits for agility etc

that's all for now but i shall return.
She's got a smile that, it seems to me, reminds me of childhood memories, where everything is as fresh as the bright blue sky.

Opinions

Shield, this has been bugging my friend for so long how the shop keeper in bowerstone keeps saying shields, weapons armor and yet there is no such thing as a shield in fable. Yea dual wielding would be pretty cool too i guess. A more selection of armor, in my game i have almost all of the armor you can have except black chainmail which is only available in the arena and i was too poor to afford. More demon doors, what are there only 12 i mean the whole demon door idea is original and good but i think there needs to be more of them. More explorable areas, there are not that many explorable areas, i know that in TLC they added Sniwspire but that really isnt enough. I think that there should be some big dessert land because when i hear the name: The Northern Wastes i keep think of some big dessert wasteland ( by making more areas there could also be new quests and demon doors). Thats all i have to say.

Lionshead studios has their work cut out for them if they plan to add everything the fans want. But if they do it, it would be the game of the decade at least. Here are some of my wishlist ideas:

1 a). Labrinth dungeons. Especially behind demon doors. Remember the time in old console rpgs where you had to carry a sack full of tents and healing potions before you entered a dungeon that led to a new area. I slept through Fables "dungeons", if you could call them that.

1 b). Underground towns. Why not? You could have a town just for the purpose of restocking the potions you'll need to escape. It opens up a whole new level of quest oportunities, unique underground creatures and a place for the Thieves Guild.

1 c). Dungeons with feeling. Dungeons should have a reason for existing, be it to connect three cities for easy Thieves Guild access or some evil hero wizards contribution to Albion. Dungeons should have puzzles in them. Push the crate onto the special tile on the floor has been done to death, so be creative.
An example of a dungeon that doesn't feel like a dungeon: A tower of an old dead magician has recently been found. It was protected from entry by an ancient spell which has decayed and it is now open for anyone to explore. Your quest is to get there before (insert nemesis) does and make sure there is nothing inside that will hurt anyone. If there is kill it (boss creature) or take it (unique item/weapon) and return to the Guild.

1 d). Having multiple paths to the same area, which of course are more dangerous and only for the advanced hero, could be a bad idea if not done properly. A game with too much dungeoneering can seem tedious. However, it opens up exp. farming oportunities for the hero who needs better stats fast before undertaking the next quest.

2. Books written about my achievements. Obviously discovered later in the game.

3. Make it harder to become a great spellcaster (as in require more exp. to purchase spells) and offer more spells. Many more.

4. As for gender, it would have been cool to be able to play Theresas role, of course you'd have to come up with a way for her to see somehow. I suppose even the choice to play as a male or female hero.

5. How about some augments for armor? They could absorb damage from spells, missile and melee attacks. Maybe the ever cliche elemental augments.

6. Dual weilding and/or weapon + shield seems to be a good idea. But I also would like ordinary weapons and armor to wear out or break after a while too. Augmented or magical armor and weapons should never break though.

7. I totally agree with everyones complaint about the time and how it effected the hero and not others. Make a calender with Albion holidays and maybe even an official holiday just for the hero because of what a great thing(s) he did. seasons would be nice too, but I understand the difficulty in adding that feature.

8. Have npcs that talk about things you did when you talk to them, not realising that it was you. Or even claiming credit for it until you show off your trophy and put him/her in their place. Adding to that, give the npcs life goals and let them move around Albion trying to achieve them. It adds realism to the game, and makes the player feel that the world is evolving around them.

9. Being able to kill merchants and take the stuff they were selling. This means you would have to have merchants that sell good stuff travel with bodyguards or merchants with spell abilities that defend themselves. This feature has the potential to be abused though. So on to my next wish...

10. Make the bounties stick even to the point of wanted posters going up all over Albion. Have mercs come after you for the reward. If you are evil, then quest cards should be given to good heroes to find and destroy/capture you. On the flip side, a good hero would have evil heroes trying to do him in with bandit ambushes and even elaborate setups where the hero gets blamed for evil acts he didn't commit, you get the idea.

11. Have the Arena happen more than once, like monthly or quarterly each year, with a final hero vs hero (lethal if evil) (non lethal if good) battle royal for the grand prize and title as the best warrior in all Albion. Keep the fight club, and have wandering members tell you when and where the next fight is and you have to get there or you'll miss it and lose the chance to advance in the club.

12. Wildlife that doesn't attack you like deer and jackalopes and rabbits that run out of bushes near old evil temples and scare the crap out of you. Killing them and leaving their corpses adds to your evil alignment and taking them and selling them for meat/fur does not.

13. Someone mentioned keeping pets. Nice idea and to add to that, killing your own pet would be so evil .. I think I would cry. (On a side note, if you add the feature of killing little children, the media would eat you alive, be careful. Personally, I don't believe killing in a game makes you want to be one in real life. I would support your decision.)

Finally and most importantly.

14. More interactivity for your actions and choices. When I became mayor of Barrowstone I expected a ceremony at least. The manor was patheticly small, no place to hang all my trophies, I couldn't even sleep in the bed. Most of the people didn't acknowledge me as the mayor, the guard at the gate says, "You back again?" what he should have said was, "Welcome back Mayor." Where was the Merchants Council and Citizens Rights Council and the Guards Guild? Why was I not constantly pestered by them for money or help to the point I give up being mayor and return to a less stressful life of adventure?

I just wanted to say Fable is an awesome game the creators should be prowd of. I also want to say that the music was nothing short of award winning, I always hated the music from rpg games (FFs especially) but Fable has the best, give the bard responsible more gold or send them to the bordello either way, they deserve a raise.

Im new

Hey there Im new, And I though what better way to first make a post in this thread. What I'd like to see in the next fable, although I doubt it would never happen, is you have this little hunch back miggit that follows you around everywhere and carries all your heavy items and other inventory items you dont need right on hand, It would be cool cause sif you could carry many weapons at a time... Much like a donkey or mule

Would be awsome, and he'd hide from any danger and when you need this he will be right there for you, and you could punch him and have no problem with anyone else because hes like your brainless little follower, would be cool...

Co-op

I'm not sure if anyone already posted this becuz i was too lazy to go and read every other post. But i think it would be pretty cool if Fable 2 could offer a co-operative play option, or an online feature that lets one join together with a band of heroes to take on rivaling groups or to just do quests.

Some things, probably previously mentioned, but i'd rather not read through 8 pages of long posts.

-Staffs. There need to be staffs in the game, what self-respecting mage doesn't have a staff?

-Daggers. You got the assasin suit, how about some daggers?(If you look at the leather armor, there are two daggers fastened to it. QWhy not use it.

-More charecter types. Technically all you can be is a warrior, mage or ranger. Well, how about being a trader? Why not have a whole trader suit? Or a nonja? Assasin suit+ daggers/ninja stars/katanas.

-A large kingdom. Technically Albion looks smaller than my town, it's tiny. Make a large kingdom with many different areas. I was very excited about exploring untill I have been everywhere, and it was small. Large cities(capital), and smaller ones. Transportation between them?(Ships, and things like that) And how about more island places. Perhaps something like Thunder's and Whisper's homeland?

-More enemies. We need to see those dragons. I was also very dissapointed that there was only one Kraken and only one King Scorpion, I had to replay the arena several times just to satisfy my hunger for killing the giant scorpion.

-More missions. An RPG game should never take only two days to complete. It needs to be long, but not drown out to where you loose interest. It needs to be long and action packed.

-Generally more weapons. As forementioned, we need staffs, daggers, maybe even some spears. The weapon selection was poor. It was like six weapons, made into twenty by using different materials.

-How about a war? Maybe participate in a war during the plot of the game? Some catapults. Soldiers from other lands.

This game can be infinatly impored. There are many other things to make for it. Fable was a great game, so the next one should be much better. Something that will totally take our interest. Not just another sequel, with the same plot but different setting and charecters.

Iv'e read a few pages of suggestions and it seems to me that to make everyone happy they are going to have to do a lot of work.
Anyway, I suggest, that if your are going to make it online enabled, like a lot of people have suggested, you have to make it a lot harder to get the best armours/weapons in the game, and eliminate all possible cheats there are to get them easier. If it were online enabled at this point in time with TLC it would get pretty boring. Everyone has Archons battle armour, everyone has every legendary weapon. Everyone has enough cash to buy every building in albion 5 times. Fable would probably not work as a mmorpg (At its current state of gameplay, even if you change the gameplay to suit mmo then you don't have fable anymore anyway) , but in small groups of 4ish you could have a blast. Fight each other in the Arena, or with each other, Archery competitons, co-op quest, and ofcourse chickin' kickin'.

P.S. You are sending this to lionhead or Microsoft (Or whoever) arent you? Dumb question but it'ud be a waste of some great ideas if they didn't see it.
"Tell me what you regard as your greatest strength, so I will know how best to undermine you; tell me of your greatest fear, so I will know which I must force you to face; tell me what you cherish most, so I will know what to take from you; and tell me what you crave, so that I might deny you."

Great points...completely agreed with all of em...if online features were added then it would need a drastically bigger ballpark. So maybe like you said, make it a little more difficult, but still have limits on the multiplayer action. It would be awesome.

Agree Of Face The Consequences!!!!!!!

You have to agree with me on this

MORE WEAPON TYPES

not just dual weapons

Ranged:

Shurikens (For those ninja assasins)

Throwing knives (named before)

Sniper Crossbows (add in some ledges in the game where you can hide out and snipe villagers and i'll give you a cookie)

The ability to pick up and throw rocks (poor boy)

Bombs (Go BOOM!)

for fun throwing snowballs in snowspire (ooh frostbite!)

Poison Darts (Bullz eye!)

Boomerang (Aussie aussie aussie!)

Grapple hooks (go Link go!)

Melee

okay we have enough of these (7 in counting) but i have to add...

use your spade! (Xombie!)

Nunchakus (FATALITY)

Demonic weapons like

Giant Fire Poker (You'll never burn again)

Chains/whips (SMACK/CRACK)

Chain Mace (Medievil baby!)

Mana

Staffs (once again, said already)

Wands (for those of the descrete)

Potion bombs (A blinding flash to stop them from attackin for a sec. or go BOOM!)

Spell Augs (Wands can only have one, staffs 3 [Earth, Fire, Water, Wind])

*******update later**************

when i say boomerang i don't mean those puny australian pieces of crud i'm talking about huge, steel wall smashing, inuyasha boomerangs.
I don't have a name, just a signature

More Mobility Options

I don't know about anyone else, but i'm sure some would agree with me that the mobility in this game is extremely limited. Besides the idea of the MMO conversion, i think it would be a good idea to add some more spark to the mobility. I mean all you can really do is walk, run, and roll. Why not some jumping or flipping? I mean Whisper could, could she not? Or better yet, mounts. Maybe you could capture some creatures and ride them; dragons (we already know they aren't extinct, as proven by JoB), stallions, or some other mystical creature. It would be cool to add a breeding feature. Maybe be able to somehow aqcuire a hatchling or a baby creature and let it evolve in time, just as you do. You could feed it, train it, and have it assist you in battle, whether it be a battle partner or a getaway partner, or both. I think that instead of an RPG, the game should be expanded into an Action RPG. I don't know, maybe this is a little unrealistic, but it'z fun to dream isn't it?

I was a bit dissapoined in the lack of more intricate movements. For example, in Jade Empire, when you dodge attacks, and jump around enemies, you can do a flip over them, and the action is much more intense than just rolling and blocking. Also, a shield woukd be nice.(Shield as in a big piece of metal that you use for protection, not the magic one). I don't care much for having to ride a horse, dragon or any animal. Building a fire would be net though if you can chop wood, and light it. Also, more humor is needed. I loved the books.

here are a couple of things that i would like changed in F2.
I haven't read all the posts before this so there are probably going to be some repeats.
1-Interactive enviroments. If I use infernal rath i want the ground around me to be blackend and broken bacause of the demons breaking through the ground.
2-Game Length. When i get bored i pop Fable in and beat it before dinner. I want a rpg where im spending weeks not talking to my friends because im trying to beat the game.
3-Conversations. Way, way, way, way more dialouge options. People should questiong why they should follow me when i tell them to follow me.
4-Real time world- i would like to have the world continue while im not in that certain part of the map. Like houses going up for sale that where owned before, houses being bought, people diying, new peopel coming into the world.
5-more side quest choices. Like the brake the siege quest if we could do that but more like in the LOTR:the 2 towers where me and a couple guards sneak out and attack the besiegers while the gate stays locked and the prisoner secure. Just have the side quest be more depth and more choices to solve them.
6-BATTLES. like in kingdom under fire. i want to lead armys of men against undead, minions, or balverines even. This would be AWSOME. Just imagine the when your trying to stop JoB from activating the focus sites you meet on a vast open plane your charecter is leading an army of guards and apprentacies into a battle with JoB forces of evil, and your charecter has to try and find JoB and stop him.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Heres some things that they need to keep the same so that dont pull a Halo 2

1-Interface. personaly i loved how easy it was to use all your weapons and spells. I made you think ahead of what spells would be most important and useful for the mission.
2-Battle system. The system for fighting was awsome easy to use while completely turning into a hack and slash game.
3-speed of charecter. Dont make him suddenly abale to sprint past every bad guy he sees.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

Thats all i can think of thanks for letting me rant.
