Your Morrowind Compulsions
I'm not sure if this has been done in the past, so my apologies if that is the case. It's a bit hard to search for such threads
Anyway, after completing a quest, and once more returning to my house and placing every item/piece of loot, I don't need to be carrying, in its correct place, it occurred to me that this is probably compulsive behaviour
I am quite zealous about ensuring my character is not carrying more than absolutely necessary and that her house is well organised. Wish I were always this way in RL..
Anyway, this got me to wondering if anyone else has obsessive behaviours or habits while playing Morrowind.

Chu,
if you play on PC, I highly recommend installing "Necessities of Morrowind," if you haven't already.

Some quirks my Breton rogue has developed (alignment wise he'd be chaotic neutral)
* He changes outfits compulsively (often depending on where he is going/what he is doing)
* He is semi-vegetarian (he will eat sea food)
* His homes are well furnished but not-cluttered (this has developed of an aversion to my mother's hoarding)
* He opposes the slavery of Argonians and Khajiit, yet sees nothing wrong in keeping slaves from other races
* Where possible he won't deal with dunmer, he doesn't like them due to a bad experience in the past (he's quite happy to deal t them however )

Putting new books up on the shelves (using the Book Rotate mod) in their proper groups. If I get a really neat armor set, I put it on a dummy (unless I want to use it, of course). All magical amulets go inside one armoire draw. And my alchemy lab has a nifty pet who puts away all herbs whenever I click on it.
I guess this is leftover from my time spent as a GM in a popular MMORPG. We each had our "homes," where we'd have half-made devices, critters we were working on, and copies of all finished merchandise (I think I made more than 300 items in that game), etc. You get used to trying to make order out of it all.

@ Raven Song,
lol! My characters normally change outfits according to whim as well. Though, I am playing the Elemental race, and those wings tend to make many outfits a bit awkward.
I can see the view on slavery. I mean, the elves and humans are not normally enslaved in the game, so it has the ring of poetic justice.
@Fable,
Which house mod are you currently using? I dislike putting my alchemy ingredients away because it is so tedious. But, I've become very attached to Mysthaven Manor, which doesn't come with a sorter. It is NOM compatible, and I love the way the light inside the manor changes with the light outside according to the time of day.

Kahleigh's Retreat. I prefer the look and feel of Abu's, but Kahleigh does have that nice extra feature. So I shunt between the two.

I am currently using the Master Mage Quarters. I put all my alchemy stuff, clothes, armour etc in the boxes/mannequins. It is just so much neater than carrying it around.
I know of a mod that can compress all alchemy ingredients. Is there a similar one for keys and pits of paper? I know it's off-topic, but that would really help with my Morrowind OCD...

Well, since quietly putting all your keys on a keychain would be considered compulsive behavior, then it *is* on topic. And there's at least a keychain mod floating around out there. I've never used it, but you can probably find it on Morrowind Summit. Or ask around here. Perhaps someone keeps a copy of it. Haven't ever heard of one for pieces of paper.

My Obsessive Compulsive Morrowind Dissorder
Well thank you SO much,
(thinks to herself,, Im no the only one )
I have a tiny little problem with candles, I cant help myself from stealing or buying any and all I see. Why you say, well because I love the light that they offer my dark abode. I like to scatter all my candles all over my Manor in Balmora, organized by style,color, and type. I also have a thing for lanterns. If you were to try and walk into my manor in balmora youde likely be blinded, at last count, I had somewhere in the neighborhood of 1167 candles. Yes it is very buggy at times , but what can I say I LOVE my candles. (she turns and laughs maniacly, gazing out over the sea of candles in her kitchen)

She is sleeping now, her form still and unmoving except for the gentle rise and fall of her form . She seems so peaceful, so serene. Hush now, all is whispers as we let the dreamer dream.

@BS,
well given that Dwemer coins are worth 50 gold a pop, they're pretty good to steal
@Darkmistress,
And I thought my tendency to collect lanterns was compulsive....

Raven_Song, I couldn't find the mod you mentioned on that site. Was that the shop in Balmora, in the square near the Fighters' and Mages' Guilds? Could you post a direct link?
On the other hand, there are some excellent light mods available, if you have a PC and the RAM to run 'em. Check out Dave Humphrey's Furniture Store 2.x for buildings that contain both furniture and plants (in separate areas) with plenty of accessories, including lights. Killgore's Home Furnishings in Vivec offers a very different selection--again, with plenty of light sources, including lamps and lanterns. You might also want to check out Andoreth's Mod Page. He stopped updating it over a year ago, but it contains the Real Furniture mod (a very good one) plus mods others did to add to Real Furniture: new meshes, and even potted plants that will grow from seeds into a variety of herbs.
DarkMistress, you might also want to install Byblos' Lights 300. It basically changes the color of a light to match the color of the wax or paper surrounding it. So that a red candle throws out a red light, etc. I've been using it for ages. It really makes the various alchemists and Mage Guilds look great.

I might have edited my message after your post. Any a more exact link is now on my above post (unfortunately the nature of the site means an exact link to that particular mod isn't possible) and the details of the mod are as follows...
Candle Shp
Author: Raylin
Description:
Admin Notes: Tribunal and Bloodmoon GMSTs.

Oh, Candle Shop. Yes, I tried that for a while--it's the one I was thinking of. It's kind of basic, and the author gave up modding after releasing the first version. The other shops I mentioned include light fixtures of many sorts as subsets, including the textures made for the add-ons and some new ones, too.
Probably worth loading all of 'em in. I've added some lit wall torches to Kahleigh's Retreat, because the lighting feels a bit stark to me. Those furniture stores let you move around and then freeze purchased objects, all courtesy of a "magic ring."

Dark Mistress,
Another mod you might enjoy is Leeloo's Lantern Replacer. It adds some gorgeous stained glass textures to the lanterns. The mod used to be at The Summit, but I couldn't see it when I just looked.
If you are interested, and can't find it, PM me and I'd be happy to send it to you
I have compulsively stolen, bought and picked up many lanterns since installing this mod..

I am a compulsive hoarder of expensive items. I also like to have stashes littered around the world. About 70% of which I'll never equip for use. I'm comforted by the feeling of knowing I've got piles of cool stuff.
I am a compulsive adventurer.
I am also a compulsive killer of cliff-racers. No carcass disposal, just erratication.
