The Moonblade of Selune
The Moonblade of Selune
Okay, I just did that quest in Chapter 1 to retrieve the moonblade and I brought it back to Emma. My friend had done the quest before so I knew that you could get the sword as a reward except that I keep getting 2000 gold. I looked in a guide and it says that I gotta decline to her offer but the only option I have is I am grateful, farewell.(Or something along those lines) What's the deal with this?
It may depend on the class or charisma of the character you have speaking to her. Paladins and Monks will refuse rewards... but if you're getting gold instead, that's probably not the issue. Try loading a save just before returning the sword to her, and try all of your party members to see if different conditions bring up different dialog options.
I have already tried them all and the monk and the paladin decline(of course) and then my ranger and wizard only take gold. I am thinking of making a new character with high charisma to get the weapon then deleting the character if charisma will affect it.
Okay, I just tried making a dude with 18 charisma and still nothing...

I heard that you can keep the sword if your Pal (and only your pal) gives it back - and declines the reward...
...but never tried that myself - always kept the sword and didn't take the EXP...
btw. don't think that it has something to do with CHA...
...and in HOF everything goes wrong, if you have the sword from the normal game in the inventory!
