Whats it like

Post by REal953 »

I have never played this game and I was just wondering what it is like. I was told it was good but I am not sure if I want to buy it.

If you buy it, be sure to buy the expansions as they are the better games.

The first one is not so great, as with- Spoiler----

You start off having to look for 4 different Waterdahveian creatures or whatever, and you conveniently have 4 places to go, just one example of the closed endedness of the game

I personally don't like the first. The second improves a lot, but is still not the best thing. It's pretty decent though. Shadows of Undrentide is the name.

Then there is Hordes of the Underdark, which is a REALLY good one, I loved it and will always love it. So, if you buy it, at least pick those two up with the first.

There is already a thread on this by you, you do not need to create more threads for the same question.

I don't think the poster intended to make another thread. If you look at the time when they were created, you see it is only one minute between. I think this is a double posting incident.

However, to answer the question:

This is one of the best games I have ever played. The online gameplay is much better (depending on the server you choose to play on) than the original single player campaign. The expanison campaigns are pretty good. So it's really up to what you if you like the online maps better than the single player.

Yes but if you scroll down you'll see that he/she already asked this question about a week ago making this the 3rd topic overall. It seems our mod does have a keen eye and IS actually watching over us :p

Also maybe he was trying to tell us something about the lack of replies in his first topic.

IMO this is definitely a high quality game, if you like AD&D using the version 3.5 rules and want to see the benefits (and short comings) of adapting them to a cRPG then by all means check it out. There is a demo available on fileplanet. Yes the game has a multiplayer component.

Well about your question, I've started playing it for the first time and I'm about halfway through the game, and so far it's a pretty good game. Its fun and all and the graphics are pretty good.

Here are some of the positives:
--The plot is pretty long and complicated so getting bored isn't very easy.

--It's graphics are pretty detailed.

--There are many settings from whichc u can choose from to add on to graphics such as shadow, gore, etc.

Here is the down side to the game:
--There are a few graphic difficulties that I've noticed such as my henchman not having a shadow.

--There are some imperfections such as when you rest, you nod a little bit so your weapons nod to and they kind of go through the ground...

--One more thing I've noticed is that in some places if you click somewhere to move and its around a wall, they just run into the wall like they can't get to the other side. This only happens in some places but its still kind of annoying...
Well if winning is an art,
then I believe it's drawn us apart.

3 threads merged. I'm not sure if it was an accidently double (well, tripple) post or intentional - but I merged them into one and deleted the double posts which occured.
