trials of the luremaster--startup help please!

Post by Ned Flanders »

anybody get this to run. Here is what I have done.

download from gamespy. (weird how it didn't download as an executable) wound up renaming the 71 MB file as an .exe and then it appeared to install just fine. However, if I pull up any of my saved games (end of IWD or HOW) the credits just seem to roll.

If anyone has had luck with this mini expansion, please post here. thanks

Ned,

No problem with the install, but I haven't yet had time to try and run it. It downloaded as an .exe for me.

Mine also downloaded as an .exe but i got ToB so i haven't had a chance to re-install Icewind yet.

My only advice read the Readme and go to the icewind home page at

You could email them and ask the experts ;) Oh wait that's why your posting here....right...... ;) :D

@Ned: I DL:ed from Interplay's official site, installed as an .exe, and everything worked just fine. Perhaps you should take a look at Black Isle's message board for HoW, I think there's some technical info there. Good luck!

@ C Elegans: My download just said "file", however, it was 71.2 MB. I changed the file extension from a DOS prompt to exe and then, lo and behold, the TOTL download icon took on the same icon as other IWD downloads (that skyblue and white square - I hope you know what I mean). Also, it appeared to install quite fine, I watched the process. I am just not sure how to run TOTL. I pulled up an old save with Icasaracht, the corpse. When I left the room, it just ran the movie finale with that crazy looking naked lady shaman. What is up with that anyway, it's Icewind Dale for crying out loud, put some clothes on.

So the question posed, is how do you actually get to any areas of the TOTL expansion.

thanks.

Ned, I thought I read in the description of the download, or maybe the readme file that you have to find a certain person in one of hte villages and they send you on your way to the next areas. Haven't gotten that far yet to know where this chap is, but I'm looking for him!

@mikeheitz

thanks, will try to find the person in town. I sort of remember that now that you mention it. I read about it a few weeks before I actually downloaded it. Will try soon and post back to see if I was successful. thanks again to all here for your help
