Gamehelp *spoilers* Hobbe Cave and Trader's Quest

Post by Kitten1984 »

For those not sure what to do about that nasty bandit in Hobbe's Cave or the Trader-Balverine in the Trader's Quest, here's what I did.

If you start the Trader's Quest, you initially have to escort two traders. A third one was attacked by a beast and will ask if he can come along. This guy was attacked by a Balverine and will transform in one at the end of the quest, somewhere around the Darkwood Weir or Ancient Cullis Gate. However, if you refuse him you get evil points. If you plan on being evil go right ahead, if you want to be good, I got a little trick to get angel points and get rid of this soon-to-be-Balverine.
You let him tag along and in Darkwood Lake you tell the two good traders(the ones with hats) to wait and just take the third with you as you go and kill off the bandits in this area(Darkwood Marshes, the balverine that attacks is too fast and you don't get a chance to tell the two to wait). Just give the bandits a little time and get him killed off by them. You don't lose anything and you'll only have a nasty troll to kill in Darkwood Weir.

When you do the Hobbe's Cave quest, you get an ally in a bandit, who was imprisoned by the Hobbes. He is in the first room on the right. He will doublecross you if you keep him alive all the way and demands gold from you when you have James and want to leave the cave.
Nevertheless, let him tag along. And keep him SAVE. At least untill the Fight with the Nimph. He is very handy to keep the nasty hobbes of you while you kill off the nimph with lightning. After the Nimph is dead and he is still alive, just stand by and let the hobbes kill him off. Then start hacking and keep James save(even though his whiney 'help' is driving you mad).

Hope it helps and good luck in the rest of the game.
