newbie question about henchmen
I can't figure out how to make Tomi pick the lock of a chest he claims he is able to pick. I can tell him to do all sorts of different things (even got a little menu for wizardspells eventhough he's no wizard), but I can't seem to find the order for picking locks or detecting (disarming) traps. Anyone who could tell me?
He should be doing that automatically, after he says he can disarm a trap/pick a lock does he run to the area where that thing is?
If not, it may be an error that could be fixed with a patch or talk to him and make sure that he is supposed to be disarming traps/picking. The option should be in his dialogue somewhere.

Thanks...
...but I'm afraid it didn't work. Having installed the patch, Tomi doesn't even follow me around any more, making him completely useless. So I've decided to solo the game more or less (I discovered I could let my familiar do the lock-picking and trap searching instead). However, I understand that certain quests only are available through the henchmen. How long do the henchman have to tag along in order to revele his och her quest? And do I have to share all the experiencepoints I get with them, or do I get them all myself eventhough they're in my "party"?

The henchmen quests are just dependent on you finding items for them in the game and talking to them when you go up an experience level. So, you can just hire them for a minute, talk to them progressing their quest and then get rid of them as you wish.
If a companion isn't following you, there is an option when you right-click on them that puts them in Follow Mode. Maybe they're not in that currently?
