"You look a bit distressed my dwarvern companion, perhaps a calming blue might help." With that statement, Kron casted Blue Faerie Fire on Kazar. As a glow grew around him, he began to laugh. "Do not worry however," Kron said inbetween laughs, "it should wear off in two minutes." With towards Sh'rarn, chuckling in delight.

"My thoughts exactly Halgrath. If we scour the cave, we shall find this dwarf, or if not him, signs that could possibly lead us to him. We should move out immediately, before too much time passes, who knows what these goblins could be up to."

Insulted and had his dignity removed by some half arsed drow, taking his axe and with an almighty roar swung at Kron

"DWARF! You are more a coward than I thought if you must attack me whilst my back is turned. You snivelling coward, haven't you got the guts to fight like a man. Now that is enough! Words are one thing, but if you must fight me, then I refuse. Unlike you, I will never directly cause damage to my companions. If you persist one of us shall have to leave, and it will not be me." With that, Kron turned his back to the dwarf and led the way into the cave.

Hmm. Sh'rarn hoped it would not come to that. The group needed some kind kind of purpose, an urgency that would unite them. Sterwick was being quiet as usual, sometimes it was hard not to feel how much more there was to him than met the eye. Perhaps his secrets would be revealed later on.
For now, there had to be some way of stopping Kron and Kazar from killing each other, or even one of them leaving...
Perhas they should split into two groups, one to investigate further into Sterwick's current state and the other into this goblin threat. He wondered when would be a good time to propose the idea...indeeed, if there would ever be a good time...

Okay, there are 3 unexplored routes in the cave (east from the entrance, the corridor and from the room in the west), everyone can take, so please decide on one and post that, thanks. :)

And to keep Yepi happy ( ;) ), that's 3 points of damage done to Kron.

"My thoughts are that the Dwarf and Sess should work together, since he is the only one who would not be risking his neck to the whims of a temper. The second party should be Sterwick and Sh'rarn, as he can keep a close eye on our new companion. And finally, Halgrath and I, as I need a confident fighter, and he looks able. You may choose your own direction, however I am travelling down the corridor." With that, Kron walked off, not looking to see if others followed.

[Yeah, that's fair enough, I was already working with that damage :D .]

Seeing that the drow was already entering the cave without waiting for any of them, Halgrath rose and gathered his items, shield and mace. As he walks past Sh'rarn, he tried to sound optimistic.

"Perhaps the drow is right, paladin. Probably it's best to separate both of them, or risk them coming to blow. Stay safe and we shall meet you again here before nightfall"

Hearing some noises behind him, Kron turned around. There was Halgrath, heading right for him. "Thankyou Halgrath, and could you please heal me, it seems our friend may have damaged something back there." Once healed, Kron proceeded down the corridor, alongside Halgrath.

[Hehe, he sure did. That's why I cast a harmless spell, I didn't want to hurt party members... though I was tempted to magic missile him :p ]

[You can add roll in your turn, I'm guessing you say yes... I hope :D ]

"This should be enough then, my friend. Perhaps our dwarf's mood would lighten up afterwards, but for now let us seek some adventure. I have a feeling there's more to all these than just some goblin plot" Halgrath replied to the drow as he remembered the reason why the Lathander Order sent him to Stereaner.

After casting some minor healing, Halgrath and Kron proceeded to enter the cave. It seems more eerie than before, as all around them was utter silence. Now even the sounds of the birds from outside became very faint. As the rest of the party too began to move from the campsite, Halgrath made his way to the coridor with Kron walking a few steps behind.

When you're out of combat, healing spells always heal the maximum (no rolls required). :)

"Right, fine. Just go wandering down the dark corridor..."
Sh'rarn turned to Sess and Kazar, "You can go with them if you like or help me to find out what has happened to Sterwick, to bring him to his present situation".

Sterwick piped in, "Help from any of you would be most welcome".

Kron and Halgrath continue down the narrow, track-lined corridor. On your right is a small pool, you think you can see something glinting from within it.

"That looks interesting..." Kron trailed off, then pulling off his bag and other such items, leapt into the pool to search for the source of the glint.

Halgrath was a bit amused seeing Kron jumping straight into the pool. "Hmm, perhaps the drow and the dwarf isn't really so different after all" he smiled to himself.

Kron's rather unelegant swimming disturbs whatever the object was and causes it to be sucked out of view and reach. Perhaps you'll see it again later.

From here on in, there is a room off the corridor, you can continue further along the corridor or backtracking and choosing to visit another location (in or out of the caves) is also an option.

Emerging from the pool, sopping wet, Kron is not happy. "Blasted object, I shall gain that whatever it was. Now, Halgrath, where do you think we should procede from here, my judgement does not seem to be working all that well, as I should have known I was not the strongest of swimmers"

"Well, since you are out of the water i do doubt you'd want to backtrack and meet with Kazar. I do think i see a room up ahead in the coridor. What can you make out of it?"

Halgrath didn't really mind to go ahead, besides they haven't really found anything of worth for their effort so far.

Kron and Halgrath----

The two of you proceed around the bend in the corridor and get to the doorway of the room. Though there are remnants of hinges on the doorway, the door itself seems to be long gone.
The rocky chamber, one of the few that seemed to contain very little water or even dripping rocks, seems quite unadorned. A few stalagmites and stalagtites break up the monotony of the chamber.
You also see a chest on the opposite wall that seems to have a very unusual locking mechanism.
No sign of monsters yet.

<<Above Map link updated>>

Sh'rarn, Kazar, Sess and Sterwick ----

"Well, seeing as you're all still here I'll presume you want to help Sterwick."
He turned to the person in point "So, is there anything we can do?"

Sterwick shrugged "I am not sure myself. My memory is at best patchy and I remember nothing before waking up on that field and being helped by the clerics."

"Kron, perhaps you should examine the chest. I am not familiar with such mechanism. I'll watch over, although this chamber seems to be unoccupied"

With that, Halgrath stood close to the entrance. It appeared to him to check for signs of footprints, but he does not have the skill of a tracker anyway. The drow with his innate ability would be more succesful in such tasks.

"I wonder what could be in here, perhaps it would be..." Kron trailed off as he focused. He needed to concentrate to be able to crack this chest.

Looking closer at the chest you discover it is comprised of a dark shiny rock and is covered with recessed panels, each with a symbol sketched on. There appears to be no lock to speak of on the chest, however, your search of the chest reveals a wad of paper jammed in a hinge. Unrolling the piece of paper you can make out the message on the slightly torn and discoloured paper:

To see what I contain, you must be willing to continue a new fate. A much greater power than you has an interest. You must embrace the darkness, thirst for knowledge and greater power...

(More clues to come later on...)

Kron backs away to talk to Halgrath, relaying him the news. "I do not know what would happen if we were to be wrong, and I do not want to find out. I suggest you see what deity you think it refers to, and I shall too. My thoughts, are that this deity mentioned is Wee-Jas, what about you Halgrath?"
