A question about the "collectors edition"
I plan on buying this the day it is released... but I have a couple of questions... my current game (v 1.3) is acting weird (screen goes black - not just paused but black from time to time) and I was wondering if I should remove the old game first before loading the new game...? also I was wondering if the new version is going to let you alt-tab out of the game at all? or is it going to lock up if you try to minimize it... hmm... love this game!

I'm planning on getting DLCE when it comes out, too. I'm wondering if it will be v1.3 or v1.4? Hmm.
As to minimizing the window and/or alt-tabbing out, it was mentioned in one of the DL FAQ's I read (can't remember where) that attempting to do that could cause both the game and the save game files to become corrupt, causing exactly the intermittant black screen problem you say you are experiencing. The fix for that, according to the FAQ, it to reinstall the game after deleting everything, including the saved game files and to not reduce the window or alt-tab, but to use the escape key method instead. Since I'm suffering the same problem as you are since I tried miniziming too, I am planning on completely erasing and starting over when I do get CE. Did you perchance minimize or alt-tab? Since my current version is messed up anyway....not much to loose....plus with the upgrade from 1.3 to 1.4 (if that happens) my skill path development for my characters will probably be different too. If not, it does suck to lose the characters, but I guess they'll have to be sacrificed for the greater good.
When is CE due to be released and can we REALLY expect the new content its supposed to have? I'm comparing the box to what the game originally had in it when it was released. You know, the ability to change the appearance of your character, certain working skills like alchemy and repair and an automap to mention a few? The CE version is supposed to have additional stuff too. In fact, I'm wondering if the new content in CE will simply be what's included in v1.4. Its a shame they are doing this stuff to us loyal customers, because I really love playing DL. Some evil spirit is forcing me to play it! Help me!!! I should hate it and what they are doing to us, but I can't!

hi. i thought i had read in this forum that the dlce was supposed to be released on 01-20-06 ?? well if that is the case it looks like we are getting the old runaround again. dreamcatcher should be thankful that they have people who actually want to keep playing this game. i am getting impatient waiting for the release of the official version 1.4. i tried the unofficial version but i am unable to save a game. i am hoping the official version will address this issue. it is a great game and is loads of fun to play but the glitches hangups and unfinished portions make it a pain in the posterior sometimes. codger

alt-tab out?
no, I was forcibly alt-tabed out by, say Norton Automatic Update and that kind of program... you are playing and something starts in the background and 'bam' you are locked up and your system crashes for gosh sakes! Very unsettling... once I was just finished with a dungeon, draedoth I believe, and one of my background programs starts up and everything freezes and I can't save and I can't exit and I have to do a re-boot to start the whole darn computer up again... so... I will have to uninstall the game and delete all saved files and start fresh when the Corrected Edition (haha!) comes out... oh well... my characters were all a bunch of mish-mash types anyhoo... crimson pants, guilded chest armor, deathlord gloves and boots, crimson belt... Druid shoulders... you know... a smattering of whatever you find lying around... I hope the new version has more in the way of complete armor sets instead of having your character looking like a garage-sale warrior...
