Every time Ive played through, I have made sure the underdark section of the game is complete before leaving. Just wondering for my present game if its possible to re-enter the underdark once out and after speaking to Elhan. I have left plenty of stuff to do in Amn, and I am hoping to be able to return underground later (equipped with shield of balduran) to finish off the underdark map properly. Can anyone confirm if its possible to re-enter, without 'cheating' - I dont want to start playing with area codes etc.

You can not return to the Underdark once you leave.

I had the feeling that you could return to the Underdark map, except for the drow city, I think I've done it before.

Or is it only the temple before you exit the Underdark that's accessible?

Yes, you can return. Ust Natha is closed (and, I think, the dragon lair) but all of the other places are accessible.

This question has arisen before, but with divided results. Like Xandax, I've not been able to return: the chamber leading out of the Underdark is still available to me, but I have never been able to get beyond that point.
