Hmmm... Death Lord...

Post by Dread-TheUndead »

Can someone tell me where I can get mass of exp ? I want to go to Death Lord role and it costs like hell - to get to lvl 10 in
1) Heavy Weapons.
2) Heavy shields.
3) Heavy Armors.
costs so much... Can someone help me ?

Btw (By The Way, Duh :D )

If someone wants an sword of this 4:
- Sapphire Greatsword
- Emerald Greatsword
- Diamond Light Greatsword
- Burning Crystal Greatsword
You can find it with no problem at the 8 lvl chests in the "Draedoth Temple" (in the Vail Of Ruin).
For the swords information look here:

  • Kill all the dragons down in the nesting area. Dragons spawn with some regularity down in that area as well.
  • Go to Moon Beast Island and set your spawn rate to high.
  • Go fight the gladiator down in Skulldoon over and over again.
  • Kill all the tree guardians.
  • Get the demon key and fight the big old demon in the tomb of souls.
  • Go run up and down the vale of ruin like a mad man killing everything in sight. try the vale with encounter set to high for some crazy multi-species free for alls.
  • Go stand just outside the south gate of skulldoon and see what comes by with encounters set to high. If you are still running 1.3 you can pause the game and go have dinner, watch TV, take a nap and when you come back to the game you'll have dozens of spawns to kill.
If you don't have more then 1 bonus in Heavy armor, heavy weapons or heavy shields then you might find it very tedious to get enough experience points. I mean like multi-million exp points. D

Dlord

Uhmm.. well if you are truly a DEATHLORD, then you should definetly be able whack those flying worms to veeeery tiny pieces, just remember that crystal ward of fire. And have somekinda winter weapon in your hand, i´m currently wielding Winter Katana/Kama of fire (dual), but Dwarven winter axe do fine, and is easy to find.
Summer is beautiful ..... i am NOT .

I was talking about bonuses or how many classes do you have that have Heavy etc in their class description. For every class that you have that has a duplicate skill the less the skill cost to raise.
Btw I have to say it is crazy that you need to raise these skills so high before getting your third tier class. I'm on the deathlord path and knowing this I may change my mind. You are nearly raising your skills to the maximum necessary to equip yourself with the best gear in the game before getting your last bonus. Kind of makes your third tier bonuses pointless. D

Dread:

The way your change your rate of encounters in to go to the options page off the main menu. One of the options listed is encounters. You can change them from less to normal to more by clicking on the arrows. These can be changed on the fly, so you could for example, set them on high to say farm moonbeasts, then less if you want to go from one place to another without being ambushed constantly by hordes of bees, snakes and other annoying critters. Your saved game reacts to whatever you current setting is, so changing setting for encounters is no problem. I do it all the time.

Also, I am playing as a Adept/Mage/Paladin/BattleMage/? and the bonus I get from those classes (Paladin and Battlemage) really help lower costs for the melee skill advancement. Intelligence really helps too....when it gets high enough. I am Level 10 and have Heavy Weapons 5, Heavy Armor 5 and Heavy Shield 3 and I am kicking the crap out of moonbeasts. I only have a greatsword as a weapon which I got from killing the Unholy Knight during the Adept to Battlemage quest. I took on 10 moonbeasts without much trouble-had to slurp a few health potions, but no issues. I am also in full plate armor. It looked ugly, but was a pretty easy fight. The trick is to stay on the shrine near the center where the spire is. They knock you up the spire and you can hit them, etc. and they have trouble hitting back. Athletics 4 helps so you can backflip--it allows you to hit and not be hit. They also tend to get in each others way, too cause they are so large. Just keep swinging, toss off a couple spells and its all good. Racked up 300K EXP in about ~5 minutes of slashing. Be careful about picking up a moonstone or advancing too far in the Quest of Tiger (like grabbing a Fire Drake egg) because these look like triggers for closing down Fargrove. I'd say at this level, moonbeasts are the easiest large exp. And they are unlimited. Too weak as you say yet to take on Drakes, so there you have it. Its a pain swimming to the island, though, ain't it? I'm on v1.1, so I don't have a map....

From ferncliff's reply, it seems that the skill and attribute requirements to acquire a new class are in effect in 1.4. Is that right?

Yes, class requirements are in effect with 1.4. Be careful when planning your classes. Some requirements like those for deathlord seem very difficult to fulfill. For Deathlord you need to pick up a second second tier class that gives heavy armor, weapon and shield bonuses. Otherwise you'll spend an inordinate amount of exp points to qualify for the class. D

well...

All the thing you say are correct, but -

I CAN'T FIGHT A DRAGON or anything else that is strong (that means... nothing ? :D ) I tried the words of fire ofcourse... didn't realy help me because the dragons fire still kicked my life down in a second.

my jobs are: Fighter/Mage/Mardauer/Battle Mage so I got I think 2 bonuses to my heavy... (Mardauer gives... no ? or maybe only to H Weapons ?)

Its crazy... to lvl to lvl 9 costs me 710,000 exp and to lvl 10 it costs me about 1,200,000 exp, how DL think ill get that ? im going right now to the Tomb Of Souls... wanted to go there with Heavy + Medium weapons so...
Is it hard ? and do i get there alot of exp ? (beside the boss that gives 1 milion...) couse i want to be a Death Lord but if it will take me a year i will take i think Warlock.

Thanks for all your help (altough only that thing in the settings helped me  )

You have 2 bonuses in heavy armor (marauder and battlemage). I have 1 bonus in heavy armor and it would cost 6,400,000 exp points to go from lev 9 to lev 10. Still I feel your pain. It is screwed up to expect someone to get to lev 10 heavy W,A,and S before getting their third tier class.
If you're a mage then Ice balls will take out a drake. Lots and Lots of ice balls. You can buy ice balls from the crazy mage in the northlands (Grimlock?). I would guess you'll need about 50. D
