I'm getting Blank Screens of Death and Crashes to Desk-top (CTD) - the most often occurrence is with loading areas - I want to go somewhere and some destinations are CTDs. I did have a little trouble on the install and had to re-try - is there a way to check and fix areas manually? (perhaps I inadvertently said 'ignore')
when the Shade Lord expires and the ruins change to daylight (obviously the same environment re-rendered, but treated as a fresh location) I get part way through the load and there is a crash. same with the druid's grove, temple district etc.
thanx

system
CPU - AMD athlon 2.8 (I think)
RAM - 1 GB
graphics - radeon 5200?5700? - nvidea
OS - xp home
I cleaned the CDs, did another installation and had less trouble - but not CAB trouble-free.
not getting so many SODs and some former no-go areas are available.

As of last month, I did have the latest available - yes.
I now have another problem "argument failed..250"
my character has mind-flayers as enemy - kill off the fighters/assassins and can start fighting mf in first room, but when one mf comes into view or tries some particular trick - up pops error message and CTD.

You have nothing to lose by loading the next-to-last drivers, then. That has worked before in a few Bioware games. At least, it's worth a shot. It sounds like you've got some sort of memory conflict, and video drivers can be part of that.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
