Model Citizen failure

Post by battana »

Hi me again.

I go through Model Citizen and it tells me the quest is complete. I go back to Imalia and she yells at me and I fail. What am I doing wrong? I use stealth and am also using Obfuscate.

thats a bug with that quest. if you have entered the building at all before accepting the quest, they will have detected you earlier and you automatically fail when you get back to the warrens. its quite a common bug (i had the same prob my first game). all you can do is just fail the quest unless you have an earlier save from before you entered the building for the very first time (not the first time during the quest). you only lose out on 2xp so its not worth worrying about. also, i'm not sure but i think one of the unofficial patches probably fixes the bug - they fix most things. in case you do have an earlier save, it worked fine for me if i go into stealth or obfuscate before entering the building at all. and don't use any disciplines other than stuff like auspex or obfuscate or you will fail the quest - things like trance can cause the quest to fail (again something i found from experience lol).

New question. Do I have a Haven in each town I go to? Where is it in Hollywood and Chinatown. I'm a Malkavian if it makes a difference.

there are only two havens - the first one then the one in downtown. all clans get the skylines appt in downtown except nosferatu and tremere. tremere get one in the tremere chantry (if they are nice to the guy in there) and nosferatu get one in the sewers after talking to gary. there are no havens in hollywood or chinatown.

You Ugly?

Also insulting or being ugly and uncomplementarty to him will stop him from giving you a skyline apartment

More than one Haven, though. There is Santa Monica, which everybody gets. The Tremere can get a haven in the Chantry downtown. The Nos can get a haven in the sewers of Hollywood, and everybody else can get the haven in the Sky-line apartments downtown.

Model Citizen Quest

The first time I played, in this quest, I was caught installing the web cams so I killed the "model citizen" and her bodyguard. Once returned, Imalia thanked me (in american dollars) notwithstanding I were not supposed to kill anyone!
The success in this quest entailed a lost of humanity but also a gain of a few hundred bucks ! :D

Well, that is dumb.

Its a public building. You don't need to pick the lock or anything. But just going into the bottom floor equals failure. How stupid is that?!

So if you've been in the building before its best just to kill the actress and her boyfriend. It can get you 1 XP instead of 2XP so not a completely loss.

But I still think it silly to be penaltized for just going into the building to look around before you have the quest. Harms first time players without reason.

i don't think they intended it to be like that, its just a bug, and as far as i know is fixed by the unofficial patches.

Correct. Bug fixes such as this are the main reason I download and install them. Always keep a backup copy of my original Vampire directory, though. Just in case.
