IWD too easy?

Post by Gruntboy »

Is this forum small 'cos IWD is too easy?

Does anyone think IWD is too easy?

I've sailed through it twice now. Whilst I think it is a great game and there are some tough fights, I don't think it is on a par with BG 1 or 2.

True but its also only not 4 disks long Image You can cram alot more into 4 disks.

Plus there is less freedom of movement - they can cram a lot more dungeons & monsters in if you can't bimble around a huge map.

Which is good.

Yea I remember the first time I played BG2. I did the first dungeon, then got completely over whelmed with all there was to do. Sorta of so much to do, where to start kind of thing.

Yeah, BG2 isn't a mindless wander like BG1 but there's an awful lot of it. IWD is so straight I kept looking for extra areas, hidden doors etc. "There's gotta be more map locations". Will HoW add to that spacious map???

Too easy ? Nahh i don't think so, the problem is they made it too short. Don't you all recall the time when you have to smack the last boss (i forgot the name since it's been a while i haven't played it again). It took me almost 3 minutes to whack him out cold.

And the side quest just too few, what can you expect with game with only 2 CDs ? I guess you just can't have too many expectation on it. BTW i really hope Heart of winter can add more spice than messing it out completely.

Sure there's some tough parts to it (some people might disagree with fighting Behlifet at the end - i think he's pretty mean). Overall its simplistic (but fun!) - so you don't get as much discussion as for BG2.

Shame. I enjoyed the game.

Damn those shadowed orc marksmen!

Yeah, 20 or so shadowed elven acolytes is a lot to hack your way through!
