Nosferatu Embrace

Post by Evrae »

I suppose people who have never played the game before could consider this spoilers so... *Spoilers*

Okay, well I decided that I wanted to play as a Nossie so I could look at the dialogue options that I've heard some people talk about, but when I watched the opening movie it left me a little confused. Before I watched the movie I was thinking 'how the hell does a nosferatu seduce your character into bed?', but then I discovered that the vampire biting you looked completely normal, not like a nosferatu at all. Later on when the Prince is sentancing your sire there is a magical flash of light and all of a sudden she looks like a walking haemorrhoid; so my question is, since when did the Nosferatu have a discipline which allowed them to look attractive? Neither Obfuscate, Animalism nor Potence have the ability to do this to my knowledge. so does anyone know how it could've been achieved?

Obfuscate allows you to change your appearance in the Pen and Paper version. I think it's a level 2 or 3 discipine ( Mask of Thousand Faces or something like that ). Your appearance won't never be higher then 2, but that's way better then the 0 Nosferatu get ( 2 is a fairly normal human ).

Plus there's always, you know, alchohol. It'd take some really thick beer goggles though.

There are, of course, Roofies. Plus no doubt any number of other drugs that a Nos would have no problem getting access to.

He he he, beer!

Yes, at level 3 Obfuscate a character, even a Nossie, can change their apperance to seem like a normal person on the street. The amount of change you can afford is dependant on your skill, and a little luck, with the power.

1) Some slight changes, maybe a little taller or shorter, darker or lighter hair, a bit of an acent.

2) No two people agree on how you look, the change is such that you appear sufficently changed as to not be recognised.

3) You can change height, weight, age, appearnce in ways so as to appear totaly different, a plain face on the street, a police office, a doctor...

4) You can change sex, or mimic another person totaly. Friends, family and lovers may still recognise differences, but normal people wont know you from the original person.

5) You appear however you wish, from the most beautiful cat walk star to the most deformed hobo. If you are impersonating someone, even intimate relations will have a hard time spotting any flaws in your performance and looks.

So yeah, a Nossie can change their apperance a LOT.

Hmmmm... That information puts the Nosferatu embrace into a new light. A Nosferatu with sufficient skill could have been disguised as our character's living lover. Wouldn't that be a shock, to see your girlfriend (or boyfriend, I'm not forgetting you ladies) turn into... Well, that?

Just imagine how you'd be feelling at your sire's sentencing then.

I think that, at that point, I'd beg LaCroix to kill me, too.

I don't think any quantity of soap would make you feel clean after going through that...
