I Bought Icewind Dale and HOW Last Night...

Post by THE JAKER »

No this is not some old thread...

Anyway, I had passed on IWD over the years because of so-so reviews and always played BG instead, but in reading you guy's posts on this here IWD forum, I thought, hey doesn't sound so bad at all. So I was out at the local huge crazy electronics store shopping around for a new monitor (19"...at long last :D ) and I was looking at games. I thought about getting Max Payne, but then I saw that I could get IWD and HOW for the same money, and I thought 'they won't be on the shelves forever get them before they're gone you dumbsh-'. So I did.

Anyway I just wanted to let everyone know, thanks for turning me onto it.
May you walk on warrrrm sannd....

Spam all you want (just don't tell Kayless I said that).

How you gonna play it - straight in at the deep end with Heart of Fury mode? :D

Be sure to download Trials of the Luremaster too - I'm just doing that at the moment (playing it, not downloading it ;) . :)

I regret nothing in this forum. You only get one free ride with me, girl, then its open season.

In this forum, unlike the others, I am God!(well, a wee God in comparison to Buck, but a God nontheless).

I will definitely be getting Max Payne - when the discounts start!! I think my current system (PIII 500 mhz) would not run that game that well anyway, but I am going to be upgrading before the end of the year (monitor is first step), so that would be a perfect time...The thing that's so great about BG and IWD is that its democratic - works great on modest systems.

They had a letter in PC Gamer that said something like - "Why does Max Payne always look like he smells something bad?" :D

@Gruntboy - I'm probably not going to start right in on the HOF mode, thanks - in fact you're the only person I've heard say they could play it at all - the post about a full party not being able to take down a single orc was sort of offputting.

I'll probably try to do a runthrough playing each part blind, and posting topics every time I get stuck on anything that say

"HELP ME PLEASE - CAN'T FIND THE KEY! DESPERATE!!"

Then I'll bump my topic each hour until I get responses.
May you walk on warrrrm sannd....

Buck is Satan, so you should call yourself Devil or Mephistopheles, Grunty. :p
