1.4 English, problems.

Ok here is a/my problem.

I have tried to install the 1.4 English update, since it is more than a 100meg to get it a try.
It will not install, says my version is 1.1 and here is the problem afaik.
Version 1.3 is not a real install version (download at least 3 differnt sites they are all the same) it only extracts files which you choose to overwirte.
Problem with this is it does not update your registry, so version 1.4 CHECKS the version before installing.
I tried to make a 1.3 registry entry, since I dont know the proper string of the 1.3 it did not work.

Anyone have a solution or can tell me/us the proper 1.3 registry string, so we can install this?

I found my registry entry under Local_Machine\Software\DreamCatcher\Dungeon Lords
The 1.1 entry is 1.10.0000

I tried to register on DreamCatcher to ask but I guess the Activation Email system is overun, nothing yet?

I can get the German 1.3 to 1.4 patch to work fine and it definatly says v1.3 in the game.

Also tried fresh install, trying to patch 1.4 at each stage.

If you look at our [url="http://www.gamebanshee.com/dungeonlords/downloads.php"]downloads section[/url], we list two 1.3 patches. Those are the only two different ones, so far as I know. Did you try using the one from DreamCatcher's site?

If you can get the fan-made 1.4 patch to work, but you can't get the official 1.4 patch to work, then I don't think you're missing anything (although it's too early to tell).

Thanks very much for the link to GB DL section.

I suspected there were 2 different versions but could never find an install version.

I just downloaded the 1.4 patch (took 15 minutes) and my game settings were all messed up - but with some fiddling and resetting I now have the game I was expecting in the first place! WOOT!

1.4english Problems

HI EVERYONE. i also have aproblem with the patch.i uninstalled the version 1.3 i was playing and then downloaded the official 1.4 patch and installed it. i got it from file forum. when i click on the icon to start the game an error message comes up and says program failed binkw32.dll file is missing. anbody got any clues on what this is. it is probably a video file since it is a bink file. if some one knows how i can obtain it respond here or send a private message. thanks codger

That means codgar (im sure) that you need back your 1.3 patch for the 1.4.

My advice is that you will uninstall your 1.4, install 1.3, and then install 1.4 back.

Help with 1.3 to 1.4 pls

Updated my DL to version 1.2 to 1.3 which now reads on the start up screen but now I can't download 1.4 because it says version 1.2 has been detected.

Try a reinstall and just run 1.3 first if you can or heck try 1.4 first.
Sounds like your 1.2 incorrectly installed or your 1.3, if you have a version of 1.3 that you have to, OK to over write current files you have the wrong 1.3 patch.
THe correct 1.3 patch is at the link listed above and is the FIRST 1.3 patch.
Well it is possible you have the 1.2 version (out of the box) you should run the game before any patching, to check.
