Splinter Cell Or MSG?
me and a friend have been arguing for weeks now about which game is better, in terms of steath, plot, graphics, etc. and i thought the only way to settle this would be for all you SYMians to share your views.

i know that metal gear started the steath action genre, but snake eater lost all roots in stealth, splinter cell has such fluid movement, and acrobatics that put solid snake to shame.

but killerk9, double agent (set for a sep '06 release) gives the player the chance to decide how to do the missions, which side will prevail, which characters die (including the main ones like lambert and the new guy, Jaimes.) how can any game as linear as MGS match up to that?

Yeah I had to go with MGS: the story gets a little hokey at times (especially in Sons Of Liberty) but I definitely pefer them to Splinter Cell (which is still a darn good game).

...So what we think is wrong, because someone else said so?
It's called an opinion. I haven't played either of these games, so I haven't voted at all, but it seems quite foolish that your whole arguement in favour of Splinter Cell relies on what is the professional opinion of someone who writes a blog.
Oh, and insulting people's sanity (even if it is true ), is not likely to make someone vote with you.

Not to mention the fact that his main problems with the game were the fact that he didn't like people's names, or that it was a Fictional plotline...

MGS owns my boat. although I shall draw a veil over sons of liberty. the first MGS is still one of my favourite games of all time, with an outstanding plot. and in response to the blog thing... so? the enjoyment is in being cunning and beating the puzzles and guard patterns and so on, not in the appreciation of using a character that can jump a realistic distance. and frankly it would take at least a few robotic ninjas to persuade me to pay attention to some by-the-numbers tom clancy plot claptrap.
and am I the only one that found the combat almost painfully arthiritic in splinter cell?
