First Five Hours
First Five Hours
I have just read an article about the first five hours of gameplay. It seems that in Oblivion you do not ask join guilds or groups, someone comes to you and asks you, based on a decision you have made at some other time. Like if you kill someone, you will be asked to join the Dark Brotherhood. Or if you go to jail for stealing a lot you will be given a chance to join the theives guild.

Is this a press eyes only review or would you mind posting a link ?
Thanks

I am not too thrilled about having to get caught to join the Thieves guild, usually enjoy Thieves Guilds in games but that is a little werid.

Trust me, most of the names I have been called you can't translate in any language...they're not even real words as much as a succession of violent images.
Interesting that. Am not sure how it will work but at this moment, I am not too thrilled about this. We shall see I guess, but I liked the old system.
And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.

Works for me, too. It also helps foster of an atmosphere (however phony) of guilds being *active* organizations instead of passive ones, as they've been throughout the last 3 ES games.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
heh what kind of theives guild would ask a thief who has gone to jail a lot to join their guild? doesnt going to jail a lot for stealing means that he sucks as a theif?
ROFL That is hilarious ...
Still, the people at Bethesda seem to be very smart indeed so I am sure it will work out that you will be entertained and won't care. Maybe the thief that approaches you is an ex cell-mate LOL

Sounds fun, although I wonder if the guy who approaches you about the guild is also your shower 'buddy'. :speech:
Seriously, I like the Idea of more active guilds as Fable mentioned, it gives the appearance of a more intricate complex society which is what the Elder scrolls are all about. I just hope that I dont get caught doing a bit of freelance theif work in which I lose a haul worth 30k, that could be annoying, especially if there are no evidence boxes.
How would you join the fighters and mages guilds? Is it the same as in TES 3 or do you have to get in a fight in the market and win either using magic or steel.

If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him.
