Different Prices for same item and diff exp pts

Post by PRGFool »

I am about ready to go into the labrynth(sp?) for the first time. I am a mage, adept, paladin, something, wizard. I have bargain skill at 5 and the last time i sold stuff, my honor was at about 59/60. the elf in Arindale gives me top gold pieces for almost everything I sell in regards to weapons, armor etc. ie. the elf paid about 11k for a wizard hat while Mage Aleister only would pay 7k. The urgoth guy in Skuldoon would pay 2k for the mace and mage aliester would pay 2.9k. Is there any rhyme or reason to this?

the second question is I am reading alot of the threads and most recently the one about getting exp quickly, early. I am not getting anywhere near the exp points that everyone is indicating, here are a couple of examples.
I killed a fire drake in the vale of ruin, 160k not 300k. Everytime a slay a minotaur in the arena I get 21k. A moon beast was like 22k. Does anyone know why that would be?

I think you get better prices in your "home town." It sounds like your character is an elf, so you'd get the best prices in Arindale. You might also get better prices if you're dealing with a shopkeeper in a guild that you belong to.

You're getting about the same experince values that I'm getting, except for the minotaur where I think I'm getting 29k. Experience point totals changed drastically in one of the patches, and I think they can be different between characters as well.

One thing I noticed, at least in CE, is items do not have to be identified to get a better sale price. Everything has a specific price, regardless.

The price you get for items is always higher in Arindale, elf, dwarf or human. Not sure how the prices compare when you first arrive in Arindale since traveling back and forth is difficult but certainly after the trial of elders Arindale is the place to sell. I’ve never played a Demigoth to find out if that changed things. D

My first character was a Thrall, and I would always head back to Arindale to sell stuff because they would buy it for the most.

does hounor really help you out when you are selling, and what else does it do really?

It may be needless to mention, but your difficulty settings also affect experience from monsters. You'll get less on easy, more on hard.
