Well, you could use blunt weaponry, such as clubs, maces, heavy flails etc. That should do more damage than other weapon types.
Cast any spells that will increase your defences or raise your attack skills (Bless/Prayer for example).

use weapons that do fire or acid damage as undead tend to be vulnerable to these. what class are you as this greatly affects strategies in difficult battles? if melee, use bulls strength potions, speed potions etc. and cast any defensive/buffing spells you may have on yourself. if arcane, then make sure you have stoneskin cast on yourself and use spells like isaacs meteor storm or spells that do a lot of fire or acid damage in one go. you could also summon things to distract the golem while you take it out. also, if you have improved invisibility, cast it on yourself as this will make you harder to hit.
