problem on yavin on final visit (spoilers)

this is about the fifth time i've played kotor and i've never had this problem before, i've also tried reinstalling and turning off movies and it still doesn't help. basically i go to yavin (for the last time before heading off to the unknown world) and instead of having to fight the trandoshans (or whatever they are called), as soon as i open the door to where suvam is the screen goes black and the pazaak diologue appears. if i exit that dialogue at all, the screen remains black and i can't see my character (as its completely black) although i can move (i can hear the movement) and access the main menu etc.

as i said, i've never encountered this before anywhere in the game on any of my run throughs. the only thing i've done differently this time is i did korriban before the leviathan for the first time ever, i did manaan last for the first time, and i'm romancing carth for the first time. i also destroyed the kolto on manaan for the first time. i have no mods installed either. i'm completely puzzled. anyone got any ideas? if not then i'll just skip that part and go straight to the unknown world without the crystals and extra equipment i was going to buy (its no big deal as i didn't know about the yavin items getting better on my first game and i managed the star forge just fine without the crystals etc.).

That's exceedingly odd. Have you tried returning to your ship, then going back to the corridor, and attempting to enter Yavin headquarters? My thought is that unloading and reloading the corridor code might correct this problem. It's not much of a chance, but still.

thanks fable. i've managed to fix it - i found the solution at the bioware forums and its very similar to what you suggested:

basically you have to navigate your way back to the ebon hawk after triggering the screen going black(without being able to see where you are going so you need to open the door first and use the map to make sure you are going in the right direction lol). then once on the ebon hawk the bug seems to fix itself and if you exit the ebon hawk straight away then go back to suvam it triggers the trandoshan scene like it should have done in the first place. i now have all the fancy equipment i wanted for hk and canderous (as i plan to take them on the star forge with me since i am ds) and the crystals i wanted

edit: if you just go back on the ebon hawk without triggering the screen going black it makes no difference.
