Can you teleport mudcrab somehow?

Post by morwyn »

i read somewhere (i can't remember) that someone teleported mudcrab to their house, but I was wondering how? could you use a spell (if so, which spell), or what? i'm tired of going to the island and i thought it was a cool idea. does anyone know how you could do that?

If you are on Xbox... I can't see how you'd do it..

But, if you are on PC, you might be able to move him by looking his ID up in the construction set, and using the console while you are in your house.

Bring up the console by pressing Shift and the tilde key: ~

Then type:
'Player -> placeatpc "insert ID" 1,1,1'

Or, if you are on PC, and feel so inclined, you could also just download a mod that provides Creeper with more money.

Alternately, there's a convenient mod (again, only for pc) that places a trapdoor near the siltstrider in Balmora (not as remote as the mudcrab's whereabouts) that transports you to the mudcrab. The name of the mod is "mudcrab_door" and it can (still) be found at MWSummit.

Just, in case if you were going to use PlaceAtPC, be aware that you may have a fresh Mudcrab at the place you were summpnong it with the original still on the island. It happened to me when i placed Creeper in my base this way. I got a fresh one with initial inventory, and on my next visit to Caldera there was the old one with all i'd sold to him before in his inventory.

thanks for your replies! i guess i will use the console.... but, where do i get the construction set list? i've found info on the construction set, but not the actual place to download the file that will show the location of mudcrab. any suggestions would be helpful.

I don't know for sure that this will work.. but try this (since I can't find the mudcrab's ID in the construction set right now)..

Go visit the mudcrab in-game. While there, bring up the console (click on the ~ and Shift simultaneously).

When the console is up, take your cursor and click on the mudcrab. His ID should appear at the top of the console. Copy it down on a piece of paper, and return to your house, or wherever you plan to put Mudcrab.

Bring up the console again, and type in the command as described above, using the mudcrab's ID in the space with the quotation marks

As for me, i do not have to use Shift :)
And the id is "mudcrab_unique".
BTW, the tittle above it says nothing other than "Mudcrab", it's him who calls it "drunken mudcrab merchant".

Thanks Loredweller. I haven't had coffee yet (it's 7:30 am here), so I'm still a bit fuzzy when it comes to finding NPCs in the construction set :D

Oh, the drunken mudcrab merchant isn't under the NPC category, it's a Creature (what, like as with Creeper) explains why it could sell and buy for face value.
