Using magic is unsatisfying?
Has anyone found that using mostly magic to defeat foes is unsatisfying? I made a character that focused mostly on magic and she kicked butt but I didn't seem to enjoy killing monsters with magic as much as I did when using melee weapons. Anyway, I ended up scrapping the character and made a brand new urgoth fighter.

Magic kills are satisfying!
I am playing through for the second time, first time mainly fighter type, now mainly magics -- and I find them both satisfying. I loved dealing huge damaage with one swipe of the Sword of Death in the first game, and now I love taking out up to 15 enemies with one spell.

I played as a primary sword-slinger and then as a mage - now, I have a samari/battlemage so I can change back and forth at will - like when I run across a troll... I freeze him then I hack him to peices... quite fun... I use an entire array of spells, bow, sword, shield and run aways to fight my battles... so I like a combo player best!
i would have to agree close combat is more fun except those damn wolves and spiders get really annoying so i love blasting them with fire. Except the fact that magic speeds up the fight with tougher foes i like the jamin my sword in them better
I found bats and bees most annoying. I used a combo character and discovered that spells were great damage a flying baddie enough that they would settle lower to the ground where I could then melee 'em. This worked great on Fire Drakes.
