Can't get out of Fargrove

The quest from celesitne order saya that you should get out in the forest to place a candle, they direct you to the west gate. But you can't get out.
My problem is now how do you get out to complete the quest???

Look in your quest menu list, default "L" and what all does it say?

It says i should go to some forest.... but to reach the forest i need to walk out the west gate.... but i can't

You cant leave Fargrove until you have talked with Lord Davenmor.

And you cant talk to him until you have done a number of other things, such as the Temple Catacombs.
