I read this in a guide which I found; "Talk to Beckett, listen to everything he has to say (don't say you think vampires are demons), and say it is all interesting (Scholarship +1, if your Scholarship < 2). You get (+1 XP) if you
persuade Beckett to tell about himself."
Can you really do this? I used the gifexp cheat to maximize both charisma and scholarship but I still wasn't able to ask him to tell me about himself. He does however mention that is an archaeologist and that he has studied the vampric race for over 300 years. That doesn't net me any exp. though.
Persuading Beckett?
I have never been able to get any XP from Beckett. No matter what responses I use, I eventually get to the point that I can only say something rude, and he stops talking. You may want to do a web search as some sites have the exact conversations you must use to get the points. (Maybe Game Planet or Vampire Planet???)

Woah, almost forgot to answer this.
When you are talking with Beckett over the box itself in the Prince's office, you can ask him about himself, at which stage he will say that he's already said a lot about himself and would rather know more about YOU. You can then chose a blue option to talk to him that nets you a limited explination about him and an experince point.

I was Diablorised once. I got better.
There are 2 times this occurs, in the Museum he will give you up to skill 3 of Scholarship + 1 xp and in Lacroix's office before you go the the Hunters mission.
I believe you may need Intel and or Wis to level 3, Persuarde to level 5, not sure.
Oddly I think the newest Unofficla patch only lets you get Xp or Scholarship point not both.
I noticed this last night and had to edit Becket's .dlg file to get both.
The keys lines are, in the Museum ask about his what/how long/how you enjoy his Reaserch (I play the Malk so dialogue is different, it is about a "Smorgsberg of Knowledge")

Trust me, most of the names I have been called you can't translate in any language...they're not even real words as much as a succession of violent images.
