note on killing bosses

I killed 'Nausolem' with a nova-blast spell (after a long, long battle) and since I was at a distance, I didn't notice anything drop - well, I ran right up to his corpse and there was nada. zip. nothing, on the floor where he fell...

so I reloaded the game and made sure I 'sworded' him on the final blow (after a long, long battle) and he dropped the scepter of shadows, the shadow amulet, 2 spell books, some potions, etc... very nice...

has anyone else notice this happening?

I haven't seen that with Nauselom, but I have seen where I killed a character whose standing against a wall and when he dies his stuff drops inside a wall.
