Improvements

Post by Kieran_Frost »

Okay if you could add just three things to Baldur's Gate II, what would those be? Any three things, no matter how obscure.

Personally I'd add:
1) More quests for certain characters and more none stronghold quests for your player's class.
2)More charcters from Baldur's Gate I, not just NPC's but characters such as Neb.
3)The ability to join councils or groups all over Amn, such as the Cowled Wizards or the Red Wizards. (Not finished game so not sure if the Cowled Wizards are destoyed)

I only have one at the moment:

NPC of the new classes, such as Sorceror, Monk or Barbarian. Why we have THREE fighter/mages is beyond me....a waste of good character space.

1) A quiver to hold all the friggen arrows your archer collects (functions like gem bag or scroll bag, just for arrows instead)

2) The ability to tell from the store if you've memorised a particular spell already

3) Some more varied weapons. (more decent bastard swords, axes and shortswords come to mind - no more longswords, got enough of those already)
Cartoon Law III
Any body passing through solid matter will leave a perforation conforming to its perimeter. Also called the silhouette of passage, this phenomenon is the speciality of victims of directed-pressure explosions and of reckless cowards who are so eager to escape that they exit directly through the wall of a house, leaving a cookie-cutout-perfect hole. The threat of skunks or matrimony often catalyzes this reaction.

1. Do something with the super-extra-gold-star-sport slow game loading (patent pending). It's unbearable.
2. Silence the idiotic mantra "You must gather your party...".
3. Stop interrupting dialogs. It is highly irritating if you get a drivel during a fight.
4. Add an option to turn off "dreams" and other movies. They are nice - if you see them for the first time. They produce foam at my mouth - if I see them for the 10th time.
5. Reduce number of useless weapons and add more +3 and +4 weapons (long swords in particular). The monsters that need a +3 or even +4 weapon aren't rare in the game.
6. Improve defense tools - against stun, paralysis, Big Fun and domination-like spells because they are cast routinely by everybody in the game while your defenses are poor.
7. Cancel no-save spells with devastating effect like Imprisonment.
8. Improve saving throws and thac0 - the current values do not correspond to the strength of some monsters (dragons: AC -17, etc.)
9. Rework the action logic: "YOU CANNOT SAVE YOUR GAME AT THAT TIME!!!" for no apparent reason. Well, the reason is that a golem went to open a door. YOU CANNOT SAVE YOUR GAME until it returns.
10. Add an option to turn off character-specific drivel.
