Yeah, I talked with a sales associate where I bought my computer and he said the 6600 with 256 has some type of majorly outdated memory. I don't remember what he called it. But he said the 6800 GS would be a much better choice. I'm pumped now. I can run Oblivion with all the settings enabled. Hoorah!!!
Yeah, I got my computer at http://www.ibuypower.com They have really good prices and will definitely level with you. Anyway, I am really excited about Oblivion and the fact that I will be able to play it how it was meant to be played.
I bought my computer for http://www.ibuypower.com and I just wanted to know if my computer would come already assembled or if I would have to do it myself. If any of you have bought from there or know someone who has let me know. Thanks.
According to that site, My PC can run it if I get a new processor. Processors are so frickin expensive too.
Where would the cheapest place to go (besides Newegg) online to get a processor.
I have about 120 bucks to spend on this (I have more, but that's for shipping). I'm lookin for anything between 2.4 and 2.8 Ghz, which may not be the recommended, but it's already WAY better than my processor.
My CPU is 2.16 AMD Athlon 3000. Also, how do I figure out the number of pins I need for the socket inside the machine?
My computer is just capable of running Oblivion.
I used System Requirements lab
it anyalyses your computer hardware to see if it can run various games.
Enjoy.
System Requirments Lab tells me my Athlon 64 3200+ isn't adequate, and I need Athlon XP or better. I was under the impression that Athlon 64 processors were superior? Aside from that, I'm away. Any chance of a techie clearing this up?
Mag:Don't remember much at all of last night do you? Me:put simply.... No Mag: From what I put together of your late night drunken ramblings? Vodka, 3 girls, and then we played tic-tac-toe and slapped each other around.
Same thing happened to me actually, but it was even stupider.
I have an Athlon 3000 2.16
It says "Sorry, you need an Athlon 3000 or better."

From what I know that System Requirements Test is totally useless.

From what you know...? But how do you know this? Have you tried the test repeatedly yourself with different CPUs, and analyzed the results?

It is pretty useless actually. I have a 2.16 Ghz processor, 512 MB ram, and it said I passed the recommended, I did the test 5 times on the same game, got 5 different results.

That is pretty sad. Still, as long as we can pass, and run Oblivion and all the mods in creation, who cares?
