Physical Shield - Because you can get a Muitiplier of 50+ in the Graveyard Pass, that's pretty much it's only good use is for combos.

Enflame - It's better the Force Shield because you can get people to hate you really fast, since hostile npcs swarm around traders, and when a guard comes he attacks you instead of the hostile npcs. So picking Enflame would be your best choice, since it doesn't attack traders or throw npcs miles away.

Lightening - This spells kinda useless since it takes while to upgrade, Fireball would be a better choice since you can Charge it, and the longer you charge it the more damage and higher blast range it does. Max Lightening does 80 damage a hit, Max Fireball does 700 damage it's also good for knocking enemies down (Spell Level 3) and using a slow time to bash them again before the get to there feet.

Slow Time - Is good for all classes since you can get in more damage, hit them before they hit you, it's also good for mage classes since you'll be running alot.

Heal - Get at least level 2 Heal since some quest you have to escort npcs like the Hobbe Cave Rescue since most Hobbes go after the boy instead of you anyway.

Ghost Sword - If you're going Archer class or Mage Class then you're going to need GS to keep people off your back while you're trying to focus you magic on the toughest hostile.

Multi-Strike - Good for takening down stuborn Minions, and almost any boss in the game, it's a must if you're a pure fighter.

For me though I have to pick these:
Heal - Lv. 2 (Quest Purposes)
Muilti Arrow - Lv. 2 (Quest Purposes)
Enflame - Lv. 3 (For Knock Back)
Multi-Strike - Lv. 4 (x4 Strikes)
Slow Time - Lv. 4 (Balverines/Trolls/Golems/Minions)
Physical Shield - Lv. 4 (Great for Combos)
Assassin rush - Lv. 3
hmm...
Spoiler
if you're reding this you have no life.

enflame...yep, i'm a fan too...
slow time...d'uh! (note, does NOT work on a certain boss)
multi strike...makes swings with weapons UNBLOCKABLE!!!!!!!!!!!! does monster damage, looks cool...what more can you ask for?
lightning...fireball sucks...splash will hurt bystanders, which can be crucial for pure mages running escort missions...earlier in the game, highly useful...besides, its a free spell
multi arrow...with a powerful bow, skorm or master longbow with mana aug, sharpen sharpen augs, will do monster damage way more powerful than fireball or even enflame at range.
berserk.... cool graphics, monster damage (500+ with solas greatsword against stone trolls) vitally useful for fighting giant thingies in arena
summon...sounds sucky, until your summon kills a minion...wow...minions rock as summons
ghost sword...a enemy surrounded by four swords will be unable to block all the strikes...even though damage sucks, they will take down a minion in time...
force push...vital if you plan on using multiarrow a lot...besides, its fun!!!
physical shield...first spell i get

does anyone even like assassin rush? or drain life?

In the whole game i only *only* used 3 spells. These three were:

Physical sheild: To stop all those painful blows (level4)
Devine Furry: Hits alot of people for alot of damage, plus gets rid of those darn nymphs.(level 4)
Slowtime: So I can use the affect of Devine Furry.(level 2)

It allows you to avoid the 360 degree attacks made by trolls... Early on, I didn't invest in Physical shield...

I like lightning and divine fury as offensive spells...

Summon and slow time are cool as well...

As a melee guy, I got to have:
1) Slow time
2) Physical shield
3) and Berserk, use Berserk and a heavy weapon bc your character will wield it like it was a light weapon.

A really good thing to focus on, whether you're a will user or a melee guy, is your bow. Master Multi-arrow, and get skorm's bow, that things the sh**. Can we swear on this thing?

i would usually use assasins rush to get to the back of the enemy to kill them easily with the help of multi strike.
also: enflame is good since it is faster but i believe divine furry and infernal wrath have more of a range.
also: SPOILER
the multi arrow is really good to beat the dragon joB

I am using assassin rush more, and liking it for spread out single enemies that are very powerful...hint, hint, snowspire... :(

enflame is WAY better than divine fury...

divine fury does 1200 damage, enflame does 500...but you can do two enflame for the same will cost as a single divine fury, it does not immobilize you for the duration of the spell like divine fury, and if you're surrounded, just keep banging away with enflame until everyone is dead...finally, you can use slowtime and enflame stacks to kill like 20 minions in seconds...(hint, hint, prison path):speech:

Slow Time; it's a must have for anyone. I mean come on, what better spell? It stops the enemies in their tracks (good for ranging), lets you hit them a lot more (good for... well, anyone), and it even lets you run away (great for mages and rangers).

I personally believe Slow Time is one of the best spells in the game, if not the best.

Force push or enflame, they don't take that much will, and they hit everyone around you

I agree, after the initial shock of "what the  was that?", seeing them lose their heads like that was just beutiful, but it's even better when you decapitate them with your fists in beserk mode

berserk all the way! it owns all. massive damage if you get hit it ups the damage output, knocks down enemies in one hit, owns summoners and it looks great

Im currently playing as a Ranger (bow only) character and these are the spells that work best for me.

Ranged Warrior
Ghost Swords
Slow Time (One of the best spells in my opinion)

Melee Warrior
Berserk
Physical Shield
Assassin Rush

Anyone have any ideas on Mage skills? I think the following would be good.
Physical Shield
Slow Time
Enflame
Fireball (I think this might not work cause I think it hits npcs)

Go for berserk! Its really good early on if you just want to mash opponents. And it becomes more useful later on as well.

Enflame, divine fury and force push are really good as well, as they cause area of effect damage.

If you want to concentrate on just two spells then i have a list for you below:

If you want to become a warrior using mostly melee:

berserk & force push(berserk for the strength and speed, and force push incase you get in a fight with too many opponents).

if you want to be a ranger:

mult-arrow & ghost sword (multi-arrow to help with arrow damage, and ghost sword to help against any melee enemies).

If you want to be a will-user:

Enflame & divine fury(enflame because it is cast quick and can do alot of damage, divine fury because it stops enemies from attacking you briefly while you cast the spell).

I would think that enflame is better then force push seeing as it doesnt harm NPC's and force push harms them. Enflame also knocks down enemies and does wonderful damage as force push in my opinion just doesnt have the best damage. Divine Fury and Infernal Wrath take way to long to cast and you can take damage while performing these spells which kind of make them not as good, Maybe if you used them with slow time they would be good but that is just another spell to use.

Dont know why but I tend to only use 3 spells as I hate having to hit the Y button to switch to more spells for the xbox, I havent played the PC version so I dont know how the keys are laid out. Im sure the way you use spells on the PC are with the F keys (ex. f1, f2 etc) so it would be easier to cast them rather then the xbox.

You should try the PC version as it is so much easier to use spell, but i always find it hard to block. Thats the only drwback i find, but otherwise it is great, because i tend to assign five or six spells to a number and use them all.

My 3 fave spells

1. Divine fury: If mastered it does massive damage to lots of enemys at the same time, and u can give followers like guars or henchmen a chance to safely hit the enemys :p
2. lightning: If mastered u can hit multiple targets at the same time and if u stop u've got about 2 seconds time to safely start with divine fury. ;)
3.Heal life: Good for healing u when ur out of potion and are taking massive damage. Also very useful for keeping followers alive.
(4. Multi arrow:I always kill most enemys by ranging, so combined with mastered accuracy people are dead before they can even realize they have just run out of luck:mischief :)
Sex, drugs, Fable TLC:mischief:
If it aint fun, it aint Fable!
