wizard slayer

Post by Berethor »

Well, I've been wanting to play a Wizard Slayer ever since I read a journal posted by Crownhead about his adventures with a Wizard Slayer/Mage (kinda Ironic when you think about it :p ). While his adventures with the class seemed fun and exciting, it seemed like he was relying 90% on his mage side to get him through tough battles.

I have also thought about making a Wizard Slayer/Thief. The reason that character is great is because of the amazing high-level ability Use Any Item that thieves get. This makes the Wizard Slayer able to use the rings and amulets etc. that he couldn't use as a pure Wizard Slayer.

Here are my stats:
18/00 STR
17DEX
17CON
10 INT
10 WIS
14 CHA

++ Long Sword
+++ Katana
++ Sword and Shield Style

Level 9

Now, I have a few questions.

1) Does anyone know how to play a Wizard Slayer? I never solo so that is out of the question. In case you're wondering I'm playing with a party of 5 people. Minsc, Viconia, Cernd, Jan and Myself, a Wizard Slayer.
2) If I were to dual class to a Thief or a Mage, what level should I do it at? Remember that a Wizard Alayer gains 1% MR per level, increasing at level 20 to 5% every even level and 1% every odd.

Thanks.

Playing a WS is not so diffrent from playing any other fighter. Keep 'im in the front with Minscy and the others at your back, supporting spellpower. Use Cernd in his werewolf form to make additional attacks et cetera.
The usual play, you know.

You can't dual him to a mage wish those stats, and dualling the wizard slayers is probably the worst class *ever* to dual, as you'll have to give up massive MR for him to do it... A kensai is soo much better for these situations...

you're probably right..
Even if I get UAI the wizard slayer/thief aould be just like a fighter thief with a small MR bonus. Plus the cumulative spell failure would be useless unless you got say a quick hit on kangaax before his contingincies pop up, because if you hit the mage, hes gonna die soon, probably before he casts a spell.

I would go for Kensai/Thief but it is WAY too overpowered.
