Number 1:
My Paladin is relatively useless dying 75% of the battles, but this last time he has died and I can't revive him. I even brought him back to the 2 elves in the tree (beginning level) and they won't resurrect him. How do I get him back?

Number 2:
When does the first cleric NPC come along as I have no cleric in my group and it's clear I need one.

Number 3:
How do I use the spell effects of a weapon?

1. Can't revive? Did u just fought some shadows? or wraiths? or spectres? ur paladin might've been drained of some attribute. try using a restoration (scroll or spell or wand) on ur paladin.

2. To my knowledge, the first NPC cleric is Faeril, and she's not willing to join until later. I'm at the City Heights and nothing's happened yet. Always a bad idea to start an adventure without a cleric.

3. Similar to a wand. u first equip the weapon then using the 'magic items' submenu, select the weapon again to use (just like a wand).

ok, thanks for the help.

Is there any way to add a cleric to my party once I'm in the game? Cause there's no way I'm starting over. hehe

Also, what does everyone else do when a character hits -10 health.....only the cleric or paladin can use a wand of resurection.....and my paladin's dead. Help please!

nope. no way to add a cleric once u've started. as for resurrection, well, i usually load when some dies, since i don't want to waste those resurrections, it gets rarer as the game progresses. save often and keep backups of your savegame and roster folders. just in case u hit some unknown bug.

In the Originell AD&A the resurrection is limited to the CON-Stat. This means CON 15 only 15 resurrections possible.
I dont know if the UBI guys installed that in the game, but it could be possible.
By the way, i dont know anybody who get killed 15x? I always restart when someone is killed (Save before every Fight!!).

Faeril joined me quite (?) early in the game, as far as i remember after i get the ring of calling. So try getting there quick. Dont clear everything. Try to get the ring!

I mentioned the point of no resurrection because the elf guy in the tree stopped healing/reviving me. I gave him the staff and he told me to come back any time I need healing, but with 2 dead guys in my party, he refuses any assistance at all. I'll try the first and second patches, but I'm doubtful. any suggestions? aside from don't die and save often. hehe

if he doesn't revive them then ur out of luck. to get Faeril fast, like Chef said, don't finish the halls too early, find the skeletal arm, get the word of calling and remove the seal of mythanthor. when ur out in the city heights, head out to the Nightingale Court and find the shrine of Mystra, then get Faeril to join your party.

1. Paladins ROCK. Totally rock.
2. Faeril IS the first cleric. Nice too.
3. Equip the weapon, then go to magic items in inventory and click on it. it will activate the weapon.

ALWAYS get a cleric. Invaluable. 1 master cleric, and 1 master sorceror, and 1 Rouge/Sorc and the rest paladins.. rock.
