That ideal is a lot like how Luke based the new Jedi order. I haven't read that many of the books, but I did spend almost half a day on wikipedia.org reading about it...lol.

I found certain plot gaps were filled in by playing DS, with a high influence with your characters. I usually put a fair bit of points in persuade and awareness, so that tends to work with the humanoid NPC's. Wisdom helps too.

In anycase, I surely hope that the next installment of the series, whatever form it takes is a complete game. I enjoyed the first two, so the third if done well would be amazing.

@Kay, what else is there to say? The Path of the Grey Jedi requires great strength of mind and perceptiveness; as it is incredibly easy to go down the path of the Dark Jedi.

I have just taken a 'which famous jedi are you' test, and it said i was Emperor Palpatine/Darh Sidious, this is an example how the Grey Jedi are often mistaken for Sith, because they are much more free in most things they do, i scored 50% on morality, and still they called me evil.

@Thran, what you can do is just say LS things that influenece your characters, and gain DS points from doing 'fouler' deeds. ;)

this is true. i could never be a grey jedi. well maybe i could. i dont know. i definetly know that i could never be a light jedi. (even tho thats what i play in the game all the time) i would get to impatient and get tired of being everyone's and their brother's lapdog. i would never be able to do that.... but i could never be dark sider either. mindless killing and intimidation isnt really my thing. so maybe i could... eh *shrugs*

i took that test too. it said i was the equivilant to padawan anakin... whatever that ment... *shrugs*

Well, i know in Real life, i could never be a Grey Jedi, but few people could, that's why they invented computer games. ;) And the best part is, you don't have to listen to people whining all the time, or murder anybody and everybody who slights you in the least. It's a free Universe!

And, uh, maybe it means you are both brash and arrogant. :p

Well, Bao-Dur is interesting, and we will (hopefully) hear more about him in the future, as he had quite strong ties to the Exile, who in turn was tied to Revan, and Kreia, this could be the basis for a great new KOTOR adventure!
Well, here it is, equally as serious. I see both Jedi and Sith teachings as having some strength, and alot of weakness. For example, Jedi must learn to control their emotions, Sith are controlled by them. Both have the wrong idea. You should use your emotion to derive greater power from the force, but not let it consume you, and, as i have stated earlier doing so requres great strengh of mind.

Jedi think you should be calm, and meditate on what to do, Sith belive that you need to act on the moment, and do whatever your desires tell you to. Grey Jedi however, should see how each action can effect the situation, and act based on how it can aid you.

Jedi are bound to try and save everyone, while the Sith will slaughter. Wereas, those 'fence sitters' will turn the ones that can be usefull, slay the ones that will be dangerous, and release the ones that are neither dangerous nor useful.
I'm very much with you on what you say; the best path is to use your emotions, trying to ensure that they don't control you. But to me that path is the essence of being a Sith, not a grey Jedi. I know at least one Sith realist who won't play KOTOR except as a Lightsider, because of the way the Sith are portrayed.

But if you look at the movies, it seems to me that the Sith follow exactly the path you advocate. This sees particularly true of Palpatine, who never allows his emotions to affect his judgement or actions. He can certainly draw on his emotions when he needs to (as the expression on his face when he is fighting Windu shows) Indeed the only occasion I remember any Sith acting on the moment as his desires dictate would be when Anakin assassinated Palpatine (and I always thought it odd that this was considered to show that he was LS!)

On topic: the problem with being DS in KOTOR2 is that the characters who gain influence from blantantly DS acts are not the ones who are going to reveal anything too interesting (except possibly GOTO), nor do they give you very useful rewards when you do get a high INF with them (and as far as I can tell a high INF with Mandalore gets you nothing at all...)

Call it Sith if you want, but Jedi and Grey Jedi, are not necessarily enemies, nor Sith and Grey Jedi. The Grey Jedi are seen as neutral, and are often regarded as a threat by the Jedi and Sith, who think them a dangerous t their security/power.

LOL, so I guess NO ONE got their lightsaber at Telos? And No one ever got to finish those open ended quests in Malachor V? Or find the Dialogue option to lead you to the HK DROID factory?

Uhm, that's probably because most of this stuff is not included in the base game.
