Missing Alchemy Skill
Missing Alchemy Skill
I am a adept/rogue/paladin/trickster/cabalist and it says that I should get the alchemy skill and it is not on the magic skill on the character page. I do have the backstab diabolic skill and the drainlife skill. Anyone know why I would not have the alchemy skill when if you mouse over the the second teir and third tier classes it says that I get learning bonuse for it. Thanks.

Hmmm...well, that is funny. You should have the skill and it should appear in your magic tree, as you noted. However, it doesn't matter because this skill doesn't work, no matter how many points you put in it. So, in a way, it is a good thing that you don't have the skill because you weren't able to put points in a skill that doesn't work anyway.
As a rogue/trickster you don't need alchemy anyway. Just invest however many points into steal that you want to and can afford. This will give you all the gold you need to buy nether catals. As swcarter noted in an earlier post you can make tons of gold in the forbidden lands fighting demigogue races, especially urgoths.

Still playing 1.3 - No steal skill either
Frodo1,
thanks for the info. Your right, its better that it did not show up or I would have plunked a bunch of exp points on it. I bought the collectors edition but am still playing on 1.3. My thief skills are the three normal one everyone gets initally inspect, pick locks and disarm traps and then I have the sneak skill. I could be wrong, but don't think steal was implemented in 1.3. I just got out of draedoth and after selling my junk to the emperean elf in arrindale ended up with about 100K which with what catals I have collected, seem to be doing the trick. It really helps being a paladin with the heavy weapons skills. If I figure how to get a shot of my character page, I will post on this thread. I know there are several posts on how to do this, I just need to take the time to get the picture size right.

Your right, you need 1.4 or the CE to have steal. Personally, I really recommend moving on to the CE after you finish this character. It's so much better than 1.3. But, you were probably planning to do that anyway. Have fun.
