stuck at 9A.

I am at the moment at point 9a gate looking for a lever to open this gate so far no luck.
I have reread the walkthough but seem to be missing the point somewhere I understand I nee the gas mask at 10. for sure, also need to set Val. free but just can.t seem to get to ether of them.
I have gold key, and I have been to 14, and 12, but just can.t get to 10. I understand I need to set Val free even before I can even get the mask is this right?
I try to work things out but must admit a lot of it is just to heard for this old guy ha but still haveing a fine time thanks to you all.
So again I need a little help to get on with the game ,gas mask, and free Val.

Yes, Valdane is first, then a gate opens to several switches that opens the way to the mask, then back to the room with four doorways and take the west door to the sigil.

Maybe this isn't clear, but there's an eastern side to the temple as well, which you can view [url="http://www.gamebanshee.com/dungeonlords/walkthrough/nagatempleeast.php"]here[/url]. After you've freed Valdane, the gate at #5 will open, allowing you to reach #9 and #10.

Thank you for you reply and I understand there is an east side. Now I sat Val. free and am at this time in the room where I belive the gas mask is, found lever on noth wall, and chest by the west wall....chest with mask?? I opened it but, no mask, a little gold a few others things. Question...is it me or my game? I will of course look again. Thank you again for your patients and help.

The mask should be in the chest at #10. If you don't find it there... then I don't know. I've never heard of anybody having a problem with the mask.

Found It

Thank you for reply I found it the second time around I went back to previous
game fought my way back in,opened the chest and there it was.
I think it may have been an oversight on my part the first time sure glad it was not my game.."Gosh I love this game." Got the segal and fought Nyphers and jumping from one ledge to the other got nowhere, now what? Well like most old men I know I do my best thinking in my old chair and resting my eyes HA a little na. What was I missing,it had to be her she just had to drop something...and sure enought she did in the darn water, the eye so I am off again to read walkthough on how to get out of temple if there is nothing more to do man Max and I are ready.I have used Max for many years now, not on PC GAMES new at this, but the old D&D on graft paper along time ago still play with some old friends.

Get out of tempel

Gosh I feel so darn dumb, all I wan't to do is get out of the temple now. I think I know where the exit is in the west side, north of the hole but darn if I can find a way to it when I took the guards out it was so fast I in fact had all I could to keep up so I have no idea how we did it. I hate to be a bore but a lot of this stuff I admit is to hard for me to figure out.
So lead me out please....10,000 gold..ha ha thanks again.

If you're in the room with the hole (labeled B), then you're just about out. Just head up the stairs on the eastern side, and make your way to the room with the snake statue in it (labeled 1). The exit (labeled A) is directly across from the statue.

However, did you remember to grab the robes of regeneration from the room where you killed the naga queen? That step is required for the game.
