Guys - well I'm about to finish(?) the vault city quests.
Not sure, as I'm winigng it and not looking at a walkthrough.
Anyways, I just optimized Gecko's powerplant.
After dealing with Lynette and Stark etc, I have a gut feeling that Vault City will wipe out the Ghouls.
Ok, so I like ther Ghouls
If I'm wrong in my asumption; tell me.
If I'm correct, can I save the ghouls by wasting Lynette/Stark etc....
I'd save McClure ?
I did F2 back-asswards ... I played F1 and went basically North to South
In F2, I just messed around(... since time isn't a factor) and ran around the map.
I actually found endgame gear already.
I know it's cheating, but it's fun ... next time thru I'll go in order
Anyways, can I wipe out Vault City without losing stat points ... will my Karma drop really low(... think I'm at 660)
I do have Cassidy with combat armor + Bozar.
I'm in that Michelin type armor + turbo plasma rifle.
So, I don't think we'd have any trouble wiping them out.
Basically, if I can, I'd like to save the Ghouls. That's if they need saving.
Just going by the dialogue = I don't trust Lynette ... I'd like to waste her when I'm going to leave Vault city
Thanks.
Usually I just waste anyone who seems evil = but I don't want to ruin my character and find I deleted the save where I made the crucial decision... better to ask now(... haste makes waste)
Gecko ?

First of all, the Ghouls don't get wiped out, so you don't have to worry about that . Depending on some factors (unfortunately I forgot them) the Ghouls either become VC slaves, or McClure becomes the First Citizen and makes a treaty with Gecko. Second, if Cassidy is your only party member, you'll have a hard time killng those guards without getting him killed. And if you do, he'll most probably leave you because your karma will drop drastically and you'll get a "childkiller" perk (there are some kids outside the city walls), sou you'll be put on the bounty hunter list, which can be good if your character is at a high level

Mr Pastorius - thanks.
See, I knew Lynette was scum
Well, I might stash Cassidy near the exit grid, waste Lynette and leave.
This way, I can just walk out and Cassidy won't get into the fight.
Appreciate the help.
Ghouls > Lynette .. damn I hate her attitude
Doing the Raiders quest now ... can't find them, but I will
Then I have to talk to her again.

Glad to help
Oh, and by the way, try to take a more subtle approach if you want to kill Lynette, because if you just shoot her you'll have everyone in VC on your back... super stimpacks are great for assassinations

well, the VC guards aren't real trouble. Bad armors 'n bad weapons you'll find them carrin'. but they have a nice skill tho. Still, if you want to slaughter the whole VC I'd recommend you to do so later: a lot of ppl on your back in early game may be a problem, IF can make your way out safely while in that city... (even the bums will attack you I think). Having a power armor will make you invincible while in there. Also a big gun should do the work if you have high skill... or then use aimed shots with your small gun (good to save bullets when facing hords of useless enemies )
But to kill just Lynnete the best way is what Pastorious said: get some stimpacks
try to use some addictions too

Oh, you guys are good
Very clever !!!
I bought these games in a jewel pack = no manual
So, damned if I know how to make targeted shots or stimpak/addict-overdose someone.
I found the F1-Help button by accident.
Anyways, I'm really stuck on the raiders quest(... see my other post); so this might be a moot point ?
I do appreciate all those who have helped; really I do !
I only use gamebanshee = yes, I'm not that good at these RPG games and without the help of this "community" I'd be lost
So, we'll see if I can find these raiders.
If I can, maybe I can find a manual or explanation on your targeted shots and overdosing people = you guys are good
Never would have thought about that stuff
So, if you don't hear from me; thank you for your time = just that the game whooped me(... physically disabled/wheelchair) and I'll try another game before restarting F2

Be prepared for a few minor spoilers...
If you haven't already noticed, using super stimpacks restores 75 health, BUT it does some damage to you over time (6hp first time through, 3hp second time through) which makes them the best assassination weapon. If you have the Awareness perk, you'll be able to see the health of a potential victim. Now, all you have to do is inject enough super stims so they deal lethal damage (e.g. an NPC has 40hp, so you have to use five super stims on the NPC to kill him/her).
About targeted shots: when you have a weapon equipped, it's displayed in your item slot on the main screen. You probably know that you can change active items with the left red button or just by pressing B. Now, the trick with weapons is that you can right-click on the button thus changing the attack mode from targeted (needs an extra AP) to non-targeted (equal as a targeted shot to the torso) in most cases. There are eight targeting zones which increase the chance of dealing critical damage. They are: head (knocks out the target), the torso (no critical bonus, same as non-targeted shooting), eyes (blindness), grain (knocks down or knocks out the target, depending on the gender ), right arm (crippled right arm), left arm (crippled left arm), right leg (crippled right leg), left leg (crippled left leg). Depending on the creature you're attacking, these names will vary, but their location on the targeting window and the effect will remain the same. You have the 'crippled' descriptions in the character menu, so I don't think it's necessary to explain it
The last but not the least: Raiders. If my memory serves me, you can discover their location in New Reno at the Bishop casino on the top floor in one of the wall safes. You can get there either by getting a quest from Thomas Moore in VC (that normally-dressed guy near the vault entrance) or by *beeb* Bishop's wife
But you'd better have the Power Armor equipped because you'll have everyone in Bishop's casino on your back

Mr Pastorius - thank you.
I'll save up some super stimpaks
I think I read on a character creation walkthrough, that "targeting" doesn't work with fast shot(..trait). I picked fast shot, so I will try it on my next character.
Yes, I found a map in Bishops safe.
I nevet found the cave, so I was going to kill Bishop and Lynette for fun.
Then I noticed the 3 safes and figured; what the heck.
Found the map and read it.
I wasted 10+ hours to find that darn cave and the map to the well was right in front of me .... as I did a Bishop quest before
Well, we're, good-to-go now.
I added enough points to add big guns = so now I took the Bozar off Cassidy
I upped my steal, so Buster will supply my ammo needs + I don't have to pick up every weapon to sell.
I just finished Broken Hills and am not sure if I should keep Cassidy or add Marcus .... I can only use 1 NPC
Going to research the pro's/con's of each.
