Before I answer this question I have some advise for you bennny28. This is only to keep you from getting suspended or expelled from the forums. This is because I was very close to getting suspended. I may be risking just putting this, but I think you should know... I noticed that you put the same thing in the Morrowind forums, that is a bad idea. Fable likes keeping the ammount of threads to a minimum because I think Buck Satan, the owner of the web site, wants to keep everything moving at optimum speed. Also, keep things related to the thread, this is what I'm risking right now, this is considered "spam" and will be deleated. If you spam enough, you get a warning and after that you get in trouble. The worst thing you can to is spam a thread, the thread is killed and you will probably be suspended. This is what I did. Now that I have this cleared up, I hope that Game Banshee forums can be an informative place for you.
@The moderator, I'm just trying to make the forum a spamless place, so please don't detete this. After being a member for roughly two years, I have come to hate spam and maybe this post will send a message to a few. If anyone is bothered by this post, pleas send a private message and call me out there and not in a public thread. There, we can talk things over, hopefully with little name-calling ;) .

Now to answer your question, in my very humble opinion, I think you should get Morrowind for now, and get Oblivion when it comes out in March 26, give or take a week.

I'm not the mod for this specific forum, RDE, but I think you'll find each mod adheres to the same rules and sense of Web courtesy. That's because it's Buck's, and we all report to him.

There's another side to the rules. The same ones that don't allow multiple threads, thread knapping, flaming, spamming, etc, also mean your own thread won't be kidnapped or spammed, and you won't be flamed. It's kinda nice, when you put it like that, because there are literally thousands of places you can go on the Web if you want to get treated badly. GB is the exception. ;)

Bennny, in answer to your question, "best" is subjective. At the current moment, I'd say MW is best, because 1) it runs on most CPUs, unlike its predecessors, which are dated that way, 2) it has the most detailed environment, 3) it has the best visuals, 4) the most quests, and 5) can be run with plenty of player-made mods that add still more quests, stores, etc. That said, Oblivion is coming out in late March. If you must have one of the games now, my personal recommendation is to go with MW. But if you can wait, you might prefer want to see what the reviewers and players have to say after Oblivion appears.

100% agreed with fable.

See, morrowind is really open ended, to the point where you are dropped off somewhere and you just go where you please form there. Normal games, the world waits on you, but not this one.

There's only one problem, and it's minor, that I've found with morrowind. It's that when you obtain a quest and have to go talk to someone about that, somehow they always already know about it even though let's say, you were told specifically "ask so and so about this for me, you recieve some silly errand, but I need that information" yet when you get there, so and so already knows of why your there.

BUT, that's about the only bad in game thing. Morrowind is basically the closest thing to Dungeons and Dragons in video game format I've seen yet, as it's that open to you.

Imo, the answer is clear, Morrowind. That's because I think its the best pc game thats been produced up to date. It was a high water mark (All due respects given to BG) when released in 2002. Of course, with so many great games out there, the great majority of people will have other favorite RPG's, but the reason for the great anticipation for Oblivion is due in great part to the depth, quality, and breadth of world we found in Morrowind.

BTW I think GameBanshee has some of the best mods around. Sometimes they come off as being a little terse, but that may or may not be an artifact of this isolated medium where contact is never in person. I never find them heavy-handed on the one hand, or unable to control inappropriate activity on the other hand, which is the real test of moderation.
