Any suggestions

Post by Ranger_of_Truth »

Anyone have any suggestions on what Will powers to use for a pure bow character? I was thinking the following would be good but Im not sure seeing as I wont be able to get the Frying Pan until I get to hook coast to get one of the Treasure Clues.

Strength
Health

Skill
Speed - Max
Accuracy - Max
Guile - Max

Will Powers
Slow Time
Ghost Swords
Multi Arrows

Im sure this is a common build but its the only one I could think of that would work nicely and I wouldnt have to do a ton of running to not get hit by enemies. I also have guile maxed so that at night I can go into any town and lockpick a store door and loot items, I loot a store just about a hour ago and got a master great mace

Yeah that is a common build, but is also good for pure ranged characters. I would also recommend that you get some toughness, just incase you take some hits. Apart from that, it seems pretty good to me.

I just remembered another one now. Enflame or force push can be handy if you find yourself surrounded so you can force your enemies back while damaging them. I find enflame more powerful than force push.

use force push, cause enflame cant be used when you pull the string of your bow.. or you will have to pull it again.. dunno, but force push can be used wile pulling

Ah yes, but when you have allies around you, it does damage them as well as your enemies. So i would suggest that you get both enflame and force push, so you can use both spells as you please.

Ranger magics

I'd lose the ghost sword, as it isn't of much use if u r a pure ranger; and I'd add turncoat. Using turncoat can come in handy if u are fighting a couple of enemys and want to disctract a few of em.:mischief:
Never been a pure ranger myself, so I can't really say for sure if it's so effective...pure theoretically!

pure ranger

As I think of ir... don't lose the ghost sword, but only train it to lvl 2 or 3. It's good to do at bit more damage, but there are still other spells that are more important that u will need to use ur xp for. :p

Thanks alot for the comments everyone, I noticed that ghost shield at later in the game (Hook Coast) get distroyed rather quickly even at lvl 4, but there good for distracting the enemies long enough for you to do good dmg to them. Turncoat is pretty good but my only problem with it is that you have to be sort of up close in order for it to turn them. I mainly try and stick with 3 spells to use but Ill try and use more then 3, Im on the XBox so I have to hit Y to switch to more spells but the way I try and do my spells is on what section make them spells like slow time and physical shield then on another is my offense spells (multi arrow, enflame etc).

So far with the information everyone here has givin Im thinking of this build.

Strength
Health - Max
Toughness - 4

Skill
Speed - Max
Accuracy - Max
Guile - Max

Will Powers
Slow Time - On switch
Ghost Swords
Multi Arrows
Physical Sheild - On switch
Turncoat - On switch
Enflame

So basically my 3 switch spells are my defensivie spells and my main spells are my offensive which is kind of good to have them like that so I can get to each without worrying about using a offensive spell in my defensivie section. Yet again thanks to everyone that replyed. *Thanks* :D
