After getting the Shadow Lord Amulet in the final area of the Shadow Ruins, back outside DON'T hex edit your location to get back to Staroxia. This will break the quest (she won't recognize that you have the Amulet) and she won't even ask if you want to quest for the Shadow Lord.
Upon exiting the Shadow Ruins, you have to run all the way back to Staroxia so that she recognizes the amulet. Then when going back to the Isle of the Damned, DON'T hex edit your coordinates to get there and return quickly. This also breaks the quest. It IS ok to use the Moonbridges though.
