Anything known about the playable NPCs?

In the stores the 25th of September? Guess that means around Christmas... Anyway, what is known about the NPCs that can join your party?

Can you get them early on?
What classes?
What stats?
History?

Answering myself as good as possible. There are some NPCs presented at the official site:

Quite a few a these eight NPCs are actually undead! One is a female drow, one is a male dwarf.

The GameBanshee PoR site has good info and complete stats on the NPCs. They're scattered fairly evenly throughout all the areas of the game.
