opening Lock pick Level ???

Post by auto7890 »

Please help, I am a bit slow at picking locks, my current level is at 21,and
the lock type is about 40, I need to pick a lock at Aldruhn in the Mages guild,
the cupboard is at 100 and I know it contains the treasure the theif master
wants me to get for him.

How can I upper my lock picking level fast without cheating ??
I have also tried 2 scrolls of hinge unlocking, but the cupboard would not open.

You train at a trainer.

For the 100 lock you might try an Echash(?) Lock Splitter scroll,if you can find it.

But yes,i agree with rookie that Training is the easyest way to complete your thieving tasks.

Keep in my mind that your Intelligence has to be high enough, else the security skill cannot be raised.

Slightly off topic, but still, a tip for the future: although I'm playing a thieflike pc too, I've never raised my security skill to 100. Right now it's around 56 and I've been able to open all locks without a problem.

Try and find a grandmasters lock-pick. It would help a lot. But you'll still need a fairly high security skill.

This is off the subject but the treasure is actually in a small chest on the achemy shelf. and is a lower lock level.

Which still can't be opened by Ondusi-level spells.

Grandmaster lockpick, plus a few potions of Fortify Intelligence. Intelligence governs Security, so a high Intelligence can really make a big difference.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Use a spell

If you're impatient about splitting locks (and outta cash for training) you can also buy a spell to open locks such as Ondusi's locksplitter(??)...and then proceed to "create a spell" with a 100 pt "open rate", your alteration skill will have to be sufficiently high to run the spell tho... Good luck
