Version 1.5 (vampiress help)

Post by bedwine »

I have been playing it up to getting into fargrove. I have played this game about 6 times but this is the first time with the collectors edition. So far this version actually looks to be complete. When entering fargrove their is a mysterious lady that asks you to come see her in the south part of town near custerd mansion. Upon getting there she turns out to be a vampire and attacks you. Problem is she is one tough cookie. Any help here would be appreciated.

Also their is another house close to the Tavern that is now open. It has a thief and a level 5 chest in it. Is this a quest or just an extra?

If you're talking about Frybone's house, that was actually in the original. Guess you just missed it.

As for the vampire, can't help you there. Haven't beaten her yet myself... :speech:

How to Kill Vampiress

I found if you have Nova Blast which is very easy to buy at the mages shop in fargrove that you can kill her off with less than 12 or so. It might be a good idea to buy a few more incase you waste them.

The vampiress can be tough if you do not have ranged attacks, because she will try to "sleep" you and then bite to drain your health while you are incapacitated. Arcane spells, and even a bow work well on her, since she will generally appear in the air before slowly descending to earth to attack physically. You have to be patient, as she will go gaseous several times before you can finish her off.

Vampire Version 1.5

Shea actually is part of a mini quest. There is a guy in the Fargrove Inn that asks you to kill her. It took a while because she fades out to a different location when she takes to too many hits. I wouldn't advise taking her on too early in the game. She won't be going anywhere.

killed her earlier today

A couple of things helped me here. First, at the start of the game I stayed on the goblin shacks until I had killed enough things to be well on my way to level 4.(this was stated in another post on the forum) Second, I followed the walkthrough advice about waiting to take her on until your character is built. I did at the very last thing before heading to arrindale. This included a run through of the slums, I started as an adept and I joined the rogue guild. On the first run through I took out what seemed to be hundreds of thieves and the spawning rate of thieves after I went back out and back in seemed alot easier to deal with.

I also followed the walkthrough's advice about pausing the game when she put me to sleep. I didn't have to do it that much though. when she was invisible and biting me I just swung in the direction I thought see was. I did alot of damage like this. I finished her off with spells though, the strongest thing I could buy was a fireball at the mages place. the map was helpful in me figuring out she was overhead and then I pelted her with spells.

If you are still in your first go round in Fargrove, I don't think you can get the blast nova from the mage shop unless your a mage.

the other thing that I am learning with CE is to save and load games, since you can't spend your exp.pts when you die. I did that a couple of times as well because I think she killed my once or twice before I figured out she was invisible and the one taking big chunks out of my character's neck.

You can find it in the scrolls even though your not a mage and you don't have to have a real high arcane level for scrolls to be very effective but it doesn't hurt.

Now that you mensioned...

I got a Little question now that you have mentioned this anyway...
Is Version 1.5 equal to the collectors edition or is it close to it but not the same thing? Thank you very much.
