Canvas in Castle quest (spoiler request)

Post by soni_wisdom »

I would like somee help with the Canvas in Castle quest in Chorrol... I've talked with all the persons involved and I've found two clues: a hidden painting set in the mage's room and a painting in a remote area of the west tower...
I have spend several hours since, looking for other clues and it's driving me crazy, so any help regarding their location would be greatly appreciated

I won't give it away for you, but I will give you a hint....

I think... THINK I recall the lady who was hiding the painting set in her room saying that night she had visited the kitchen... maybe a good place to look.

(BTW, there are only three clues to find, you've found two already... but you'll know as much once you find the next/last one)

I'm at the same point, got 2 of the clues, but have spent ages looking for the next. I've checked everywhere I can in the castle, but haven't found the last clue. I searched in the dining area, and in the courtyard, but no luck. A more explicit clue would be great, thanks.

A little more help, or is this a bug?

I've found the clue in the dining room and the clue hidden in the tower. But i'm having trouble finding the clue in the mages room.

I see a Lecturn that i can't open because a chair is tilted against it. Am i on the right track, or should i be looking somewhere else in her room?

Please help!

I don't know, it could have to do in which order you find the clues. I was going through her room countless times, and somehow overlooked it. But after finding the picture in the tower, I found the clue in her room instantly.
Perhaps you could knock the chair over? :)

i've tried knocking it over with my mace and with a fire ball.

when i find the clues, the cursor changes and i hit the "use" key. the cursor goes back to a crosshair but nothing seems to happen. :(

Wierd.
The Lectern is supposed to be opened, nothing else, you might already have gotten that clue without noticing it, so try accusing her?

OK, got it now. i didn't get all of the people to talk to me before trying to get all of the clues.

But now the Countess will not talk to me about the house. That's the main reason i went on this quest!

Thanks for your help!

Or under it...

Also, make sure you get all of your people to talk to you. you will know thay have if a quest advancement window pops up.

You can't gather the clues untill you talk to the people.

Did you get a quest advancement that says you should look for the clues now?

I had to bribe the drunk guy about $1000 to get him to talk!

***SPOILER***painting (bottom west tower), footprints(dining room), and paint set (mages room lecturn)

Elder - *SPOILERS*

Enter the west tower, then behind some barrels (or bozes I don't remember any more, on the left when you enter) there is a hatch to lead you down. Go down, walk straight, turn right and you'll see a painting.
And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.

Canvas ****SPOILER****

This one, while I had a heck of a time with it, is fairly simple. You have to talk to all of the suspects *at a sufficient level of confidence*, and then find the clues. The trick is the janitor. You have to make him have a high enough opinion of you to talk to you. Once you have talked to all of the suspects at a sufficient level of confidence, then you look for the three clues. Specifically, the lectern will not open for you unless you have successfully talked to all of the suspects. Once you have opened the lectern, the rest should become pretty self-evident.
