I've been getting a few 'technical errors', though the freezing problem is more of a pain.
Don't get your knickers in a twist ;)
I would equate that saying to the American version "Don't get your panties in a bunch/knot/twist/etc."

And I've never been able to order a soft-boiled egg that was even remotely worth eating. But my wife makes a peretty decent one, we cut it up on a piece of toast and munch away.

@Rav: Your new avatar reminds me of Donnie Darko.

Afternoon all.

Hehe. That wasn't intentional, I just found it when I was looking for 'wererabbit' pictures...and I found the vampiric bunny instead... :p

*makes a note* the soft boiled egg was probably invented after 1609. Yay, progress. Thanks Darzog :D

Well I wasn't around back then so I can't tell you whether they were around earlier or not.

But in looking around a little I found this recipe for a slight variation of the soft-boiled egg. Sounds interesting.

That is a very very strange recipe. I cannot imagine it could be pleasant, but it would certainly surprise people. I could not bring myself to introduce the syrup, personally, though a little mustard might be nice. Through the cream, I think, though it might alter the appearance too much

I figure the invention of the soft boiled egg must post date the foundation of america, since they are not found there. It is probably later than the first settlers in fact. I just found it difficult to believe such a thing could be so late to emerge. They had syllabub before that and that must be harder to invent, surely?
