Anyone else having trouble with lifespring guardian?

Seems to be rather buggy when I fight him. When it's his turn he just marches in place. When I attack him I run up to him....and keep running in place. But either way when he gets a hit in I'm toast. I'm around lvl 3 and 4 with my guys...am I here too early?

There are two ghosts who should be helping you at this point (Elena, who you encounter by the wells in the main hall - you have to talk to her) and another (can't remember name) whose body is in a casket in the Deep Halls (if you click on the casket you get info plus the option to arrange his remains).

They are big time help in defeating the Guardian - I noticed they hit for more points most of the time than my party members. I'm not sure whether you can defeat the Guardian without them.

I've met Elena...but she wasnt fighting with me. I'll try to get the other ghost.

I think you have to talk to the Elf in the coffin and then arrange his remains before Elena will help you. He says something about your being worthy afterward.

I'm at work, so can't get more specific until I get home tonight. If you have trouble finding him, check on the official board - the Spoiler section is up and pretty busy, so someone who has access to their maps should be around.

There are 2 ghosts who will help you with the fight, but only after you arrange each of their coffins... Elena will tell you of the Lifespring Guardian quest in Turgild Square initially, but does not offer to help you. You must find her coffin and the coffin of her lover so that they will both appear at the Lifespring battle... they really didn't help with the battle too much, by the way. If you've access to spells, try HASTE. Also, my cleric's SPIRITUAL HAMMER spell worked wonders. There is also a certain magical weapon which has a bonus against Constructs (like the Golem), but it is in a difficult area to find and is guarded heavily... the weapon appears as a quest on your roster, too.

This I found out after 3 tries....
Just have ALL your charas stand back and leave Garran fight the Lifespring Guardian alone. He has TONS of hits points to spare even if hit.
Just hit the Guardian with missle weapons like bows and slings that have +1 or better.
Soon he will fall.
