Mage Guild & House Tellvani

Post by Lilarcor »

I've just gotten Morrowind and started playing as an elven mage. So far i've gotten about 4 advancements in the mage guild and i'm thinking about joining the tellvani in the future. From what i've read (on this site) the tellvani are foes of the mage guild, will my eventual tellvani status affect my advancement in the mage guild and if so how much?

Being a mage the tellvani house is the logical choice, right?

AFAIK there is only one serious quest conflict, and that is in the second quest given to you by the Archmage. Avoid that, and you'd be fine.

I still haven't encountered an archmage (any archmage). Please be more specific but not too specific, give me the location and name of the mentioned archmage but no spoilers related to the quest. Also how important is this quest? Can i advance in the guild or the tallvani without finishing it?

Thanx for the quick reply.

Vivec, guild of mages. His name is Trebonius.

Let's just say that if you did that quest before you become the Archmagister of the Telvanni, you are pretty much screwed in that House.

And if i do it after i become an archmagister, i'll be fine right?
I still want to become an archmage in the mage guild, is that possible?

As you may be able to tell I am a mage. The archmage quest is optional you can either challenge him to a duel (no conflict way) or do a quest (conflict way). I did the first choice and I am the proud owner of the mages guild and house Telvanni.
Edit: You get the same items either way.

I actually modded my game so you can't join both - to me given the supposed hatered between the two guilds it made very little sense that a character should be able to join both.

@ Raven. Yes but if you join both you are uniting them into a world of happiness. Sorry a bit of the subject there. As I said there are no problems at all if you do the no conflict way.
