Imperial Corruption - **SPOILER**

**SIDE QUEST SPOILER**

I was approached in the Market District by an Orc who mentioned that he and a guy named Ruslan had been in Jensine's store when it was turned over by a corrupt watch captain.

Speak to Jensine and she won't say anythiing until her disposition is high enough, but eventually she tells the name of the watchman and says he does this all the time. A bit of running about and you eventually find a watch captain who's willing to arrest his colleague if you can get 2 of the 3 witnesses to testify. Some heavy duty persuasion later and I had both witnesses (not Jensine) agreeing to testify.

And that's where the problem arose.

The journal now tells me to keep an eye on the witnesses to make sure they go to my watch captain in the morning. But the map only points to the captain. Since the witnesses live in the Temple and Talos Plaza respectively, they're not easy to keep track of either.

I've stood around all night. The captain eventually goes to his room in the top of the watch tower (which you get arrested for B&E if you follow). After about 12 hours his arrow completely disappeared from the map and nothing else appeared to replace it. The journal still tells me to watch the witnesses.

Can anyone tell me what I'm missing?

With some things in this game I've found you just have to be in the right place at the right time -- literally. I have noticed that standing, sitting, sneaking, etc in the exactly correct posstion tends to activate the next move. Try re-reading your stuff. Maybe your supposed to be some where?

You need to talk to her again about some guy - forgot his name now - who has been fined several times now and is drunk all the time, he lost his wife, etc, etc. You need to talk to him, and then watch what happens. That'll trigger you having to do something else

Uh, this is NOT the "Imperial Corruption" quest you're describing but the "Conscience and Corruption" quest.

BTW, I'm also stuck with the Imperial Corruption quest, same exact situation. I've waited a few days and the guard captain keeps telling me he needs witnesses and the other two have no further options of conversation with this quest

All npcs have been buffed with 100 points of charm so their lips should be really loose... to no avail!

If I remember correctly, the guard captain that's going to do the arresting will eventually arrest after you convince the witnesses. This part is a part where the journal is misleading. I didn't have to keep an eye on the witnesses. Also, the guard captain won't say anything about having the witnesses until the arrest (I think?).

What you have to do is go to the place where the corrupt imperial will be arrested, the Market District (that's his beat). Sooner or later you'll notice that the quest marker has entered the Market District (becoming green), where he will innitiate an arrest conversation with the corrupt imperial, after which he is escorted to jail. I followed them all the way to jail until I reinitiated conversation with the imperial who helped me. After that, the quest will progress.

I just completed this quest, and I found a similar problem. I convinced the 2 witnesses to testify, and then went to talk to the good guard captain. He had nothing new to tell me, but a check of the journal told me to make sure the witnesses met him first thing in the morning. I just waited the few hours until 9am, and discovered that there was no update or map marker. I waited one more hour, then went to the market district. As soon as I arrived, I got a quest completed update, and noticed the guard captain and the corrupt captain in civilian clothes walking by. I guess I missed the arrest... But the quest ended OK.

I'm also completed this quest a few days ago.

After talking to the 2 witnesses, I've returned to in the morning to the captain. The Quest log had a "make sure the witnesses come to the captain safety" entry. I'll waited to but nothing happened. SO I decided to went to another quest and go out the city. After the fast travel, the quest competed update msj has arrived.
