help with unseeing eye quest

Post by jDED »

After defeating the unseeing eye beholder underneath the Aktlunta sewers I am having problems getting back out of the dungeon. The hidden door returning to the cult grounds can't be lockpicked or magically opened. Can anyone tell me if I might have missed a key or switch or something?

i've searched everywhere it seems and i'm thinking this is a game glitch of some sort. has anyone experienced a similiar problem here or anywhere else?

Not sure never really had the need just walked through the door.

But I do remember a really old thread posted in another forum saying if that happens to reload from sewers in the Temple district.

But this is a last resort - try to exhaust every option before taking this route - I get annoyed at repeating things due to game glitches so you might also.

Try waiting a day to see if anyone else has any comments before starting it again.

You can't go through the door towards the center south of the beholder lair? It's invisible, at first, as I recall, but as you get close, you can see it.

I had almost the same problem...My main char didn't have the key given to you by Gaal. Another NPC had it. THAT guy opened the door. I almost panicked too! :D

Also, be sure to pick up the amulet that the Unseeing Eye drops. I don't know if it is a key or not, I just know that I can always get through the door if I pick up the amulet. Anybody know for sure if there is some connection?

I think that is just an "Atta boy" item. If I remember correctly, it is an amulet of MR 5%. Not much, but every little bit helps. What I really like is getting the Saving Grace +3 shield afterwards... :D

Thnx guys. Ya I picked up the amulet and had the key with my main character and the hidden door was spotted but remained locked. I'm not sure what specifically triggers the door to open but I was able to get by it through the debug mode. Forgot about that. I remember using it to teleport the party to other areas in the first Baldurs gate.
