Dwemer Artifacts (SPOILERS)

Post by fierydemise »

Wow I'm back asking another stupid question. Anyway I'm doing the Dwemer Artifacts quest for the Thieves guild. I've tried following the instructions on this site (Pick the lock, let the guy attack me, kill him loot his body and the chest) but even if he attacks first I get reported for murder when I kill him. I've also tried taunting him then looting his corpse but then when I take the artifacts I get reported for robbery and the mage in the corner slaughters me. Is it possible to do this another way?
Don't get me angry, I'm running out of places to hide the bodies

More importantly, you're ignoring the sticky thread meant for everybody to read at the top of the forum, helpfully entitled, PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING:

I'll change this one. If you continue to do this, your posting privileges will be suspended.

You get reported for murder because he was legally attacking a thief. You need to steal the artifacts without being spotted; you can then, if you wish to, get him to attack you simply by talking to him, and kill him legally.

Another way to tackle this one is...
Mark (with the spell) a spot in the Balmora Thieve's Guild. Then head off to get the artifacts.. Quickly pick the lock and grab the items. As soon as they start attacking you, use Recall to warp back to the Thieve's Guild. Go and see the guy behind the bar (downstairs) and he will remove your bounty for a very modest fee.

Another good way is to do DW's way but use an amulet or ring. This way, if you are quick enough you won't even get reported.

OR - It doesn't matter where you get the artifacts from, so you can go exploring in ruins. Also there is no risk of a bounty.
